Holy crap dude that is not overly worse than mine!
Not much that can be filled in though; the build date info etc was never printed on them.
Probably the best bet for you is to check out the Wasp brochures for the original specs.
We have several scanned in the Brochure section including:

koolies. i wasnt sure exactly what to do about the rh door, im assuming someone had left the door open and reversed into something quite hard! what do you reckon condition wise? i know it will be a mission either way, but it would be worth it though hey?

Holy shit dude, that Wasp is about 75% as good as mine, and mine is running and registered (uh, except for a current head gasket issue!). First up a couple of links. Here's my Wasp: The first two pics is another user's car (IZU069) as he bought it about 12 years ago. I always thought it looked cool, then I heard of another one THE SAME! So the next pics are my car as I picked it up, then further down there are some pics where I met up with IZU069 - looks like they were photoshopped, but yeah they're different cars! Wasp specifications can be found here: http://www.bellett.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=123You'll find that most of the official paperwork on the Wasp shows only the G130-engined, 1300cc 'KR10' version. I'm fairly convinced, although this is by no means official, that the G150-engined 1500 'KR20' version might be unique to Australia. There's not much info on them outside of Australian-specific publications. There are a couple of Aussie-produced brochures, which is rare as most of the Bellett brochures in English don't appear to be Aussie-specific. This one: http://www.bellett.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=214... is a bit confused, as the blurb on the front mentions it shares the Bellett's 1500cc engine, while on the back the specifications make mention that it runs the G130 motor. This one: http://www.bellett.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=216... is probably later as the specs have been corrected to show the G150, 1500cc motor. This one is purely a KR10 (G130 1300cc) specs sheet: http://www.bellett.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=120.... and finally, here's just a little something for you to perve at.... strangely the Wasp is not a "Bellett Wasp", just a Wasp, however the Bellett Express wagon is badged a Bellett.... but when you look at it, it's actually a Wasp wagon. It has the same larger wheel arches, big 14" Rodeo-stud-pattern wheels, full chassis and, perhaps most strangely, a chromed version of the heavy-duty Wasp front bumper, rather than just a bloody Bellett bumper in the first place! Oh yeah, I noticed that the rear reflectors appear to be the original ones, although someone has moved them to make the rear of your car look a bit cross-eyed! A look at some of the stuff above should reveal where they're supposed to be.
Plus all this Wasp talk has got me inspired to do some brochure scanning!

dont worry dave, i go through the exact same stages! the next chance i get i am on a mission to clean out the interior and engine bay, see what the final verdict is rust wise. and as luck would have it, the bloke that runs the local scrapyard (who also knows me fairly well) usually has a few old cars laying around the yard. i went to drop some old rims down to him the other day, and it just so happens he has a written off what looks like TG gemini. i went and had a sticky, just to see if the engine may be salvageable. the body was completely rooted, had been hit up the ass and the nose was pushed in. after a few minutes of bashing and prying with an old tyre lever i found in the back of a rooted hj ute, the bonnet finally gave, to show what looked like a complete clean G180. if it was not going to cost me anything (except for the 10 fee same as the wasp pick up) would it be a worthy donor? also has a manual tranny behind it, wasnt sure if it will fit.

also i had a look earlier for any details about the engine, and the only thing i could find was G161 stamped on the block. does anyone know what that means?

Yeah man it looks like it's got an Isuzu Florian/Chevrolet LUV 1600cc engine, rather than the G150C 1500cc donk that would have come with it.
The 1600cc G161 from the Florian/LUV is a straight swap, but the Gemini G161Z doesn't bolt straight in; the Bellett runs the mounts way down the front of the engine, while the Gemini runs them about half way along the motor.
I've seen pics of it done, but the Isuzu G180 and G200 DOHC motor fits in stacks easier as the mounts are in the right place, normally.

Just looking at your pics again, I'd go so far as to say that yours has LESS rust in it than mine!
Plus they often rust in the roof.... which is a fairly big job to sort out, however yours appears to have not, which is good.

yeah well considering it had been in a paddock with one door wide open for over 10 years, its in reasonable condition. the interior suffered a fair beating from the weather though. i looked at another g161 on google, and the numbers are in a different place to the ones on the wasp. dont know if that means they are different era maybe? also how would i go about getting seats? as mine are just springs at the moment =)

Hey "Waspy", Thanks for showing us your fantastic find - one of 7 stylesides I know of. Amazing how much a good cleanup helps. If your seat springs are not broken, I reckon the best thing is to re-upholster the original bench - gives you the max legroom. About $400 where I live. Try getting the motor going. I recently got one started that had been sitting for fully 30 years! (See 'Barn Find' in My Bellett section) Put some penno down the plug holes, leave for a couple of days then wind over. If you have compression enough to push your thumb off the plug holes, it will probably go. Put some cheap clean oil in the sump before starting. Maybe you'll get a nice surprise! well hopefully i will get a few spare hours this weekend, would like to do a proper cleanup on it. thats about all i can do with it at the moment with my financial status. the only problem with getting it started is the fact that the owner before me had pulled a heap of wires out from under the dash after parking it. i guess it will be mostly trial and error. they were a fairly basic wiring system back then, so might just need to spend a bit of time with my head under the dash. i am fairly sure the springs are all in fairly good nick, just pretty rusty. i have a good mate of mine that could probably bang something up for me. one other critical fact that i hadnt taken notice of until we got it home: there is no ignition key. but to my surprise one of my spare keys from my KE35 corolla coupe fits straight in and turns! would like to get a proper wasp key for it though. i heard that you can take the barrel to a locksmith and they can make keys from using the barrel?

Well Kemosabe, perhaps I can help. I have a Wasp wiring diagram, but my vintage scanner is having trouble getting a clear scan. I will try again tomorrow. Maybe the trick is to photocopy it & mail it to you. You have discovered the fact that, with age, most Bellett / Wasp keys fit most Belletts! I have a tin of old keys that don't fit my locks. I could send you a couple. PM me your address if you like. For a shortcut, you can run a live wire to the + side of the coil (& ensure the - is continuous to the dizzy), then push the button on the back of the starter switch to wind it over. hmm might have to give that a go on the weekend. i will shoot you a pm with my address, might have some luck with one of those spare keys! one of those wiring diagrams would also come in handy id say, if you can get a clear copy made up. hopefully the wires arent stuffed anywhere else, although it wouldnt surprise me considering it has been sitting for over 10 years in a paddock!

time for an update! i have 2 weeks off as of today, so i will be spending as much time as i can doing what i can to get the wasp running. spent a bit of time on her this arvy. got the seats and moulded floor mat out, had to sweep the floor pans as they were covered in what was left of the seat foam, and about half a ton of 10+ year old cow shit and dirt. surprisingly enough not as much rust as i though. big pain in the ass, i will have to pull the fuel tank out, since someone flogged the fuel cap, and no doubt the tank would be full of water. will keep you guys posted on the progress, and take some pics on the way!
