OK, we have all heard from people looking at our cars that they had one once, Grandpa did etc and how they loved them. Wish they still had it......... This person proved it, once and for all. No names, till proven guilty. And he/she still has a Bellett.

I mentioned modified cars here on Club Permit. See attached file........
Might be a bit hard to read and appear out of context for this thread but relevant i think.

Wow. What a day! Thankyou to everyone who came along/displayed a vehicle/traveled interstate/donated/lent a hand/said hello/made the event as awesome as it was! What I found to be most impressive was not just the numbers, but the variety! I'm no car expert, I like seeing cars at shows & thinking "WTF is that?" * walk over for closer look* "Oh, so THAT'S what they look like in the flesh.". There was a little something for everyone, no matter what your flavour is. I'm pretty certain that at about the time Glenn took that photo of the orange Galant, he had a guy wearing a similar coloured vest to his right also taking photos at the time. G'day by the by! Anywho, I shall add my collection of photos, you can find them all here: https://picasaweb.google.com/117427185344396044531/ClassicJapan2013?authuser=0&authkey=Gv1sRgCNGiitKIioyfmAE&feat=directlinkI had another play with MovieMaker & put together a little walk-around of the day. Four hours of car show condensed into just under eleven minutes, if you're game, sit back, relax & enjoy. http://youtu.be/MSt1zniQMuo

Hey guys, Wow we had a great weekend last weekend and despite the short time that the show actually went for, it was an AMAZING show. For us having a long trip over meant the event was so much more than just the show! For a start, we drove straight from Adelaide (via many, many roadworks) to Kerry's house in Ballarat. He wasn't actually there, but was kind enough to lend up some space to park the VY Sandman and unload the Bellett GTR. While there, we were able to have a perve at his boneyard! An amazing collection of cars.... and those are just the ones that are beyond redemption! Check it out: First I parked the Bellett GTR near the boneyard... just to remind it what will become of it if it crosses me. Attachment:

Kerry's Prince Super Miler collection is a thing to behold; this one is off it's brain with rust, but it has donated some bits to his good one in the shed. I noticed he also has a spare front... so there must have been at least three of them here at some stage! I wonder how many are in Japan... Attachment:

Both of Kerry's dead Belletts are the rarer 1969-spec versions, sadly. Attachment:

He's got a spare Prince Skyline sitting here for bits. Attachment:

Here's the front of that amazing Prince Super Miler again... Attachment:

He's also got this Prince Super Clipper. Some of you may remember he put some photos up when he got the thing. He's fairly sure it's the only one ever sold here. Love the radiator cap sticking straight out the front! Kinda handy, really. Attachment:

More pics on the way....

After Kerry's, we took the GTR to Gav's house and stayed the night. The next morning, his kids (who had been asleep when we arrived) went into Gav's bedroom and said, "There's blokes in the loungeroom!". True, that. Blokes have beards, according to Hugh (the eldest). That day, Gav had a photo shoot for the Shannons Club website. Cool! They also interviewed him. More on that later. Attachment:
15 - Gav with film crew and Bellett.JPG [ 170.62 KiB | Viewed 22666 times ]
They got some choice shots of him giving it the beans... until they said they couldn't use any shots that showed the vehicle sideways! WTF??! It's a race/rally/club car! Attachment:
22 - Gav's Bellett with dirt rooster tail.JPG [ 158.34 KiB | Viewed 22666 times ]
Although my car wasn't in the shoot (they only wanted LOCAL Belletts, not fancy-pants JDM imports!), it was still there, lurking in the background. Or foreground, as it may be. I just like this shot as my car, fully loaded with all our clothes, tools and spare bits and pieces, has some STANCE. Attachment:

For the interview, Gav crossed his arms. Director - "Sorry Gav, can we just have the arms uncrossed; looks a bit aggressive" Gav - "Sure mate" (puts hands on hips) Director - "Just straighten them down to your sides" Gav - "I can't'; I'm disabled" (refer Gav's motorcycle accident) Director - "OH NO, I'M SORRY OH MY GOD just leave them where they are" Later, Gav went back to crossing his arms. After the photo shoot, we grabbed some more gear from Gav's place and headed to the Burvale Hotel in Nunawading. Gav, Ross and myself stayed in a very nice room... with a queen size bed and a single. I won't post the pic of myself and Gav in bed together that I sent to my wife, but needless to say, there was some serious beard overload. The next morning, the Bellett crew got there bright an early. It was a real buzz to see Glenn's Bellett 2-door Sport! I think it looks great. I'm also glad it's not totally mint... because it makes me feel less bad about mine not being totally mint! Amazing to see a couple of short-bonnet Belletts in the one place at the one time. Until a few years ago, there were no post-1971 Belletts in Australia; now there's at least three (including PR95's PR95!!). Mine has met both the others... so one day soon we'll hopefully get all three together! Attachment:

Also great so see Wally Wild's black sedan. I've loved black Belletts since I saw one in a brochure. If it was mine, I'd roll stockies, Wal, but I have to admit it looks great on those period wheels anyway. Attachment:

This was the whole lot, less the blue one with the sunroof. Great to see Gricey, Cheryl and their Florian-with-swan-bonnet-attachment again. Attachment:

Look at those bums! Two out of three are JDM-spec, you. Attachment:

More to come.

Well, wow. The show, as I've said, was amazing. The All Japan Day in SA would have as many cars, but the organisers there know that if they exclude modern vehicles; all those angry drift kids and the like, we just don't have the population to support it. No such problems in Victoria thought! Every car was a winner! How about the Toyotas first? This one was pretty good; looks like your regular RA40 Celica... but it's actually an MA46, which is 5 inches longer than a regular Celica and runs a 2.6 litre six cylinder (hence the extra length). Noticeably, it ran different lights and trim to the regular Celcia, but it didn't look too long despite the extra length. The owner also sneakily stuck a JDM turbo and all the rocker cover stuff and everything, from another JDM Toyota. The guy made it look factory-as; it was brilliant. Attachment:

I love these S50 Crowns. This one is minty and slammed! Attachment:
Toyota Crown S50 sedan - 01.JPG [ 111.39 KiB | Viewed 22656 times ]
I do love these AMI badges; they just make our Toyotas that bit more unique; although you could get that same badge on a Triumph and an AMC. Attachment:

This Toyota Sports 800 was awesome to behold; pity my photos didn't come out that good. Attachment:

I was talking to the owner of this AE86 Group A Sprinter. He advised that not only was it a factory race car, but it was the 23rd Sprinter EVER built. I saw the chassis number. He wasn't kidding! Attachment:

This TE27 Sprinter Trueno was awesome; apparently he knows Bellett owner Craig. What a little rocketship; 1600cc DOHC, but most importantly... bolt-on flares. Oh yeah. You know that's hot. Attachment:

This guy rocked up late, but I'm glad he rocked up! Check it OUT. He reckons it was a 1-family owner from new and had never been sprayed, although it had been sprayed. But look at it! I've literally seen one Tiara ever; it was the same colour but had more doors. Attachment:

Wal was all over it. Attachment:

HOW ARE THE LEADS?!?!?!?! Yazaki-brand... 1963. It's right there on the lead! Attachment:

Inside, it was beautiful. 10 points to whoever finds how to turn the indicators on! Attachment:

I think I've got to crash out. More photos in a day or two?:? Cheers, Dave
