Shannons Sydney Classic, Sydney Motorsport Park, Sunday 20 August – to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Bellett & Wasp it would be good to have a car or two in ‘Pit Lane’ for the Concourse. They must be road registered. If you think your vehicle is up to a high level of judging, please ask me for the info & entry form. IMMEDIATELY please – CMC won’t accept late entry.
To be in our regular display just reply ‘yes’ or ‘maybe’. Cars in our regular display must be registered and more than 25 years old – just washed and maybe a bit of polish but only if you’ve got time. ‘Driven’ not ‘hidden’ is the philosophy for our club & the organiser (NSW Council of Motor Clubs). We’re in Area B this time that I think is on the concrete and much closer to the action. We MAY also have a display garage – stay tuned. If so, I’m going to need assistance for planning the display and then on the Saturday for setup. Also for dismantling on Sunday. Billett accommodation in Sydney can be arranged.
There is a $25 entry fee that financial members can pay on the day, otherwise wait until I ask for payment. This gets entry for your car & passengers, a medallion & a couple of parade laps (80kmph) on the track (with passengers) at Sydney Motorsport Park. There’s often special offers at the trade stands, and other ‘market’ type stalls in the pit lane garages. Free (or maybe gold coin donation) double decker bus rides around the track all day. Musical entertainment too.
Free tea, coffee, snacks etc at our display for both entrants and our club’s visitors; simple lunch too or you can go to the food & coffee vans. This is a family friendly event for both entrants & spectators so even if you can’t bring a classic for display, please plan to come along and meet other members.
More details closer to the date. Yes, it’s just a week before Nationals.
