Bellett Disc Brake Kit

Yes, a disc brake conversion kit is now available.
This kit has had considerable time and effort put into it by a well known Bellett enthusiast and BCCV member who has a long history of modifications and conversions. The kit has been thoroughly tested and is approved via engineers report as well.

I have driven a car with this kit fitted, and it's impressive.
Even more impressive is that it's a simple bolt on conversation which can be done in an afternoon.
Also, it fits inside a standard 13" wheel, so there's no need to change to larger as some other discs need.... And it keeps those original cars looking original and can be converted back to drums if total originality is desired later.

The kit requires a set of drum brake hubs to be provided for changeover basis. The modification to them so minor that I challenge anyone to pick the difference without an original one there as well for reference.
The kit comes with all parts needed except rotors and calipers, which are commonly available.
New rotors are available through the normal parts outlets, and calipers rebuild kits (if needed) are also common.

Further details, enquire within and I'll pass your details on to those responsible (he is not a forum user).

Cheers.

This is a great development Brett.

I'm sure that it didn't just happen overnight and that you had a fair bit to do with it behind the scenes. Thanks for your commitment in making this happen.

Rant on folks:
On two separate occasions, people from the Bellett "family" have ordered kits to later change their minds with no notice. As the kits are made to order and there's a monetary outlay to do so, that means the supplier doing them is out of pocket.....
This is simply not on!
These kits are made available at cost to help everyone, especially as they're engineer approved and a simple bolt on conversion, so from now on, they will only be supplied after all money is paid up front.
If this is a problem, you can take it up with those who have caused this, not the supplier, otherwise the kits will no longer be available.
Have a nice day.

Sounds fair enough to me

don't know about that Mr Flibbs, but Aunty Mary has Galant discs fitted. Apparently the calipers just bolt on to the steering knuckle. You will need a proportioning valve for the rears though, or the lock up easily.
Cheers, Matt.

Now Davo.
Listen mate.
This is what you gotta do.
Take you little car to a trusted mechanic and pay to have the little things finished off. You pay to keep your modern going, don't you? Well, the time has come. You need to be driving her and you need to be coming to the Nationals.
I'm an old bloke, and you're probably not far behind me, so don't put it off any more!
Do it now!
I wanna see you at a Nats and in your car before I kick the bucket, and we never know when thats gunna be.
Hear?
(BTW, I'm not sick or nothin' - just so you know. ;) )
:D Cheers, Matt.

Stay on topic please.

Kits are made to order. As stated beforehand, thanks to people who previously ordered then changed their minds, nothing will done until all money is paid. This includes info as to what is needed because people need to realise that businesses are not charities.

Yeh. We did get a bit carried away. Sorry.

Would it be possible to check with the supplier to answer the question.? I know that considerable time, effort in getting engineering specs. and money was spent in coming up with the kit to suit the Bellett sedan. Nothing else. I don't think that it will. Considering that we have a different suspension, wheel and drum size and power to weight ratio to consider. A whole different ball game. Maybe look at early Rodeo that ran disc brakes etc.
My tuppence worth of knowledge.

Dave.
