Pedders have 3 types of shocks available for Bellett's (all require the lower control arm to be enlarger to get the bulge in the shock through). 3301 Touring Black Gas Shock - these equate to standard 8001 Comfort Gas Shock - upgraded (these are the ones I am using, and I will give an update on their performance when the Bell is driving). GSR9020 Gas Sports Ryder - sports (these are supposed to be a little too firm for a street car more of a track/street car). Lowered Pedders springs for the Bellett are essentially rear Nissan 300/200C sports replacements (Part No. 2378). These springs are 325mm free length (however they are progressive springs so the first couple of coils compress easily, hence why the are lower in the rear than the stock 285mm springs. I also used the thinnest VB to VP Commodore (non IRS) isolators #5824 under the spring in the control arm, the thicker ones probably wont make too much difference. A shorter bump rubber is needed in the front with these springs. Standard Nissan 300/200c (Part No. need to check) springs are 400mm so if you want to keep the nose-high attitude these are the ones to go for (sorry no part no. as yet). Hopefully as time goes on we can find a mid-way spring, maybe 340-360mm. Point to note is these springs are installed upside-down compared to the original configuration (Nissan 300/200c). One end of the spring is slightly larger than stock Bellett, hence the VL rubbers in the rear, the front doesn't seem to matter. sorry rob the 2378 are 300c/200c nissan rear lowered coils! ill let you know the part number for the standard height coils tomorrow. The rubber isolator is the same part from VB to VP (non IRS), and is 6mm thinner than the standard commodore item! The isolators are available in 6mm thinner than standard, standard and 10mm thicker than standard so there is some height tuning available! |

mrfibbles - from what cars are the 300c/200c rear lowered coils? I assumed you were referring to 230 or 330 series Cedrics, but I think they are a leaf spring rear! |

puhol, sorry i dont know yet what will fit in the florian/or 117 coupe yet, if i can get a sample local i can probably spec some up out of another car. Barney the rear springs in a nissan 300c, they were a luxury barge type thing nissan put out in the 70's/80's similar to the toyota crowns. not sure what they may have been called there in new zealand though. if you have no luck finding springs over there im happy to try and source some for you here and send them over... |

looks very similar, i have no idea what a toyota noah is though! look like toyota hilux/hiace front shocks - also very similar to some mitsubishi and holden front shocks! |

These springs not being flat on the end like the originals makes a whole lot of difference. If you don't get the position the same on each side the car sits lower one side than the other. It also sits TOO low. Even with bump stops cut you only have 12 to 15mm clearance. Another set of springs is to be trialed ... ... let you know whenwe see what it comes out like. Cheers Rob |
