The head gaskets are not the same the flame ring on the twin cam is round and the flame ring on the single cam is out of round to suit the combustion chamber of the head

well there you go both blocks look exactly the same so will the gasket match the block but not the head if you were desperate swap blocks.

I have used the single cam gasket on the twin cam before as it still seals ok but won't work the other way

doesn't that out of round cause problems though on DOHC ?
This should be the SOHC gasket:- (need to verify)
A G200W set is on ebay (Oz) Item number: 261018545307

they never put suffix codes on the engines themselves, but the OHV Bellett's had no suffix code. all twin cams were a W code. all SOHC engines that were in late Bellett's were an S code. and Gemini style engines were Z code. these are important to know as they are all different beasts to one another, and while some parts do interchange, 90% don't, so the suffix is vital to get the correct stuff.
