I've got my early 65 that has a late motor G150 with florian head.

the ally sump has a bracket off it blocking 1 of the stater bolt holes in the gearbox.

i haven't had a good look at the moment & can't recall a problem like this even before.

anyone else come across this before & have a cure for it..

Cheers Feral Kev..

Hi
The early teardrop engines had the long starter motor and different rear engine plate mount for the gearbox
Is this still in place? Rather than the later version for the stubby later model starter motor?

Howdy All..

sorry for the delay in posts n replies.. work is too much of a distraction to my social life..

OK it is a G150 with a florian head,
its got the Mid model gearbox with the twin starter holes in it, it had the wrong plate between the motor n box.
im needing a plate that has the opening at the top for the late model box that covers the bottom starter hole, then the sump won't be a problem.

the other query is what fly wheel should i have of the late model motor, as i know there is a difference.

I'm looking at pulling the motor out soon to start the rebirth process.

Cheers Feral Kev..
