Crash's rebuild

Now that the Toowoomba Nats is done and dusted, its time to focus on the Jobs To Do list and number 1 priority is getting Crash back on the road.
With only 24 hours in a day I figure 30 minutes is enough to do a bit every day.

So far I've:

Removed boot lid and hinges
Removed totally mangled tail light with the help of Lumpy the 2 pound hammer
Removed good tail light and stored away
Removed the rear bumper with the help of the crowbar
Tucked away the rear wiring after extracting it from layers of metal squashed together (again crowbar came in handy).

Just awaiting some information from various sources as to best option for panel work.

Here goes;

This is a pic of inside the boot (for those who don't recognise it :? ).

Spare wheel was jammed in pretty damn tight, so after it was completely deflated and with a little prizing from the 6 foot crowbar it finally popped out.

The fuel tank flange (were the two parts are joined together and bolted down) was slightly bent. It'll survive ok.

The actual subframe or rear bulkhead (inside guards, a frame support pieces, rear seat bulkhead, etc) area is untouched. Just all the rear panelwork needs replacing.

The outside panels forward of the rear of the quarter glass should "de-stress" after it gets a stretch on the rack or the rear panels get cut off.

No doubt a lot of work, but that'll be done by someone who knows their stuff (hopefully).

Movement at last, Crash is off to a repairer early next week with her half cut from Peter A.

Hey Gunna,

Hope to see Duane's old baby on the road before too long!

Was sure it was a 'goner', but perhaps not!

Too many sectional repairs for the insurance company, but nothing is impossible with time, skills and tenacity...or money if you have none of the above!!

Good luck with it...Will we see it at Albury-Wodonga?

Luckily it doesn't need much else outside of the body repairs; from memory I think even the tail lights survived, yeah?
