Keep that Ruston Wasp nice; it's been half a century and they've both survived, despite both of their previous owners' less-than-ideal garaging. Mine is enjoying a quiet retirement on historic registration, but it still gets the odd workout to take recycling or greenwaste to the dump! And to catch up with it's mates, of course. Attachment:

Attachment: 048 - Isuzu Wasp - Joshua Boxer and Dave's Wasp.JPG Hi Dave, 50 years is a long time indeed. I feel privaleged to be given the wasp. Not only is it a complete style side, and it's been used to death every day for the last ten years but the history behind both of the utes is unique. And it's still going. The plan is to keep it scruffy, warts and all but reconditioned. Maybe a little less rust might be nice. I'll post up some every angle shots on it's rebuild thread later. It'll be at the nats in toowoomba even if it's on the back of the car trailer

Yeah, nice to see the twin alive and well. Perhaps sometime soon we will see them together? That would be something special.
Peugeots......hmmm.....never owned any, but I like some. My experience of other french cars is, nice designs, but some things are made a bit light. Be gentle with it and look online for parts. Renault parts prices are rediculous. In their case, if you need a part, just buy a second car as it will be cheaper! Hope you have a good run with it, Cheers, Matt.

I can't see the two of them getting back together. It's a looooong way between sheds and I can't drive mine anyways. The cabin was damn small back in 1992 and it is even smaller nowadays. My 10 year old fits in with room to spare. So it'll have to be a long distance relationship for the foreseeable future. I'm learning all about pigots very quickly. I'm chasing an electronic fault on the auto system so I'll get there. It's better than a ford Capri at least. And yes I'm looking at buying a spare already just for parts. Ebay is my friend as well.

I can relate to your comments on the size of the Wasp Gunna. I owned on back in the early 90's too, and was shocked at how much they have shrunk in such a short space of time. I think my brother probably holds the record for the most people in a Wasp ( while driving ), with a total of nine people. Many skinny young teenagers involved when he was a "P" plate driver. I was struggling only two years ago to get myself, my mother and my then 11yo son in the car. Looking forward to getting the GT going, for a bit more comfort.

I don't drive with too much trouble; I'm 6'1" and not really fit or bendy. The seat in mine has been reconditioned and retrimmed but I don't think that would have made much difference. I drive with the seat all the way back though, that's for sure! Mine was never fitted with seat belts which might help a bit! Peter A contacted me a few years ago (crikey; just checked - it was 2008!!!) as he was coming to Adelaide. We got the Wasps together then; pics are here ( viewtopic.php?f=13&t=51) if you haven't seen them. It was quite a sight! Here are some: Cheers, Dave
