I was playing around trying to backtrack pre-1967 race results on the JAF website, found some Hillman Minx race results in a newly formatted section, and found myself looking at the main index page for some strange reason:
http://www.jaf.or.jp/index.htm

(Detail note for those who don't know: The JAF is a combination of a driver's assistance / travel and tourism organization like the American Automobile Association, and the sanctioning body for auto racing in Japan like the Sportscar Club of America on steroids.)

And it occurred to me that one of the tiny little thumbnail images in the row under JAF Channel, looked familiar. "Is that a Bellett? No, surely it's a mistake.".
I follow the link:
http://ch.jafevent.jp/detail.php?id=182_0_60430

It's not only a Bellett (a GT-R in fact), it's a Bellett video. It's one of those classic experience videos, look at the outside of the car, the interior, the engine compartment, then ride along as the car is driven down the road.

There's an index page:
http://ch.jafevent.jp/channel.php?ch_id=11
JAF Channel, Channel Eleven, Finest Cars of the Street, Ten Results.
It seems the result of a "10 Finest Street Cars" event/contest, there's a little paragraph about each of the ten cars with a video, and one of the other cars is a 117 Coupe.

And if you don't count Toyota and Toyopet as the same entity, then Isuzu is the only company with two cars on the list of ten.

Excellent spot JT.

I know what I'll be sitting back watching tonight with a beer and a smile.

Cheers,
R.

Dammit why is it all stally for me? I have a fairly good connection! Ah well; still a good spot and that rorty twin-cam, twin-carb snarl from the GT-R is evident!

Hey Dave,

Right click on the video, choose settings and then click the third icon along. This will set the cache for the video and if you change it to 10Mb, pause it for a bit then start it off again it should be cool...

Love the growl of that twin cam :)

Cheers,
R.

Not much success which is why I termed it "trying to backtrack". I can find no index pages for either the old section or the newer section.
The older section is just a bunch of files that have the date in the file name and a file number 000001 through 999999 (search method: look at every single file and try to pick out the car name). But that section seems to start halfway through the 1966 season.
The newer section doesn't have the same file name format, they mix years into one giant folder, and I'm not motivated enough to trudge through them. I found only 12 or so 1963 races, two with Hillman Minx, and one with a bunch of cars and one with a car DNS. The same race in 1964 is all Belletts and one Minx DNS.

This is the race that has a bunch:
http://www.jaf.or.jp/CGI/msports/result ... ndow_flg=1

The solution might be to search by driver name, but then I am cutting-and-pasting driver names from 1966 and later Bellett drivers, and hoping they drove Minxes and switched over to Belletts. I don't have a list of Minx drivers and the group wouldn't have been completely overlapping.
