All,

Does anyone want or need louvers for the rear windscreen of their Bellett? I'm talking about the internal louvers that many old holdens, valiants etc have to stop the sun shining on the rear parcel shelf.

I will be getting some made up for a forum member in the next week or two and if anyone is interested I can get more sets made. Postage will probably vary but there are ways and means if one is willing to wait.

The price is around the $200 mark but I will confirm this once I know for certain.

Anyway, let me know via reply or PM if you are interested and I will see what I can do!

Cheers,
R.

Hey PR91,

Taking my sedan into a company that manufactures them from scratch and he's making a template from my car. This way it is 100% going to fit any Bellett sedans :) No mucking around that way with things that 'used to fit' or 'I haven't fitted one for years' etc.

I'll post pics once I have the first one made.

Cheers,
R

I'm madly rubbing my hands together with anticipation. So much so they are starting to smoke.
Venetians are gonna be sweet in the green machine.

Yeah PR91 gave me an old one of his that I will eventually fit to the ratter if it doesn't rust into oblivion first!

However O'Brien Autoshades did mine from scratch for the Florian and fitted them too, and they rock.

They've been making shades there since 1948 and were OEM fitment for Holden up until I think the VZ after which Holden stopped offering them as an accessory. As set were fitted into a VT that was barrier tested at about 100kph and they didn't move, so that's good!

Needless to say though, in the last decade or so the louvres they've been fitting for late-model cars have been black....

....and even more needless to day, in a Bellett or Florian, they gotta be white (aka grandpa-spec)!!!!

They fitted some to a Vauxhall Cresta, which some may remember has three rear windows in a wrap-around arrangement. I think one of the boys said about that one.... never again!

R, that's why i asked if need an example to copy from.
i gave an original 1960's that i'd had for years and years to dave in adelaide last year, so that would be far easier than making it off the car.
cheers.

Hey PR91,

I talked to O'Brien about that and after a bit of discussion we both came to the conclusion that it would be better to go off the car so that they are a 100% fit and there is nothing unexpected. Especially if they are being send all over Australia and maybe the world :P

Thanks for the thought though!

Cheers,
R.
