Does anyone on the Forum have a copy of the full Project Bellett which appeared in the 1965 Car Magazine? I have the first issue but would like the rest as well. Could someone either post it on the Forum and PM me with a link or a copy sent to me via email. Having some trouble finding the rest of the Magazines to complete the series. Thanks very much OZ |

If I recall correctly, that was in conjunction with Malcolm Motors and was tested at the Hardie Ferodo Test Grounds at Pitt Town. Never given it much thought, but I spent quite a bit of time there as a test driver for Hardie Ferodo (quite a few years after that project though as I recall). |

Sounds like you have had many years of interesting work connected to the Motoring Industry, Ted. We all love the stories and info posted by the Grey Army, as this stuff will go one day, and we need to encourage all you guys to keep info coming in. Maybe you should write a book. i will be in for 5 or 6 copies straight up! Thanks again OZ |

I have the Wheels hot-up guide No.3 - 8 pages long. I'll scan it in tomorrow in the History section. (Took me a little while to find it - So organised - Not!) Cheers, Matt. |

Thanks again OZ Funny thing, is I did start to put together a Maintenance/Modification book for Belletts and have still got the drafts that were prepared, I showed the originals to Dave Waldon when he was here, he was astonished that I still had it, and some other Bellett Memorabilia. Maybe I can successfully scan the pages (they are a bit faded and scruffy) and put them on here bit by bit. Just to start a bit of intrigue, here is the draft for the cover, I could possibly do the same with the Bellettins that I still possess, not real clear or high quality, but nostalgic, if forum attendees wish to have me do so, and admin has no problems, I can start the feeding frenzy slowly.

ive got both here. there was supposed to be a 3rd article, but the car was written off before it was done. a much later story was done on the light blue Bob Drane owned car that was basicly the 3rd story, and i have that as well. |

stage 1 of project bellett was july 1965. stage 2 was october 1965. i'll check what issue was the bob drane story, but i have a feeling it was the "special" hot up guide they did, number 4. again, i'll double check. |

If anyone has spare copies or knows where any might be, I would LUV (Pun intended) to get a hold of them. |

Here is another page of the proposed book I was working on, they are pretty shabby, very rough drafts, there are more, but I really don't know if it's worth wasting site space with them, they would have a very limited appeal, mostly curiosity and a good laugh at my lack of artistic ability. I don't seem to have any of the text to go with them other than a short Weber bit, the page 10 reference on this one is in regard to lube points.

I got to tell you Teditor, that's one thing about Bellett ownership; people definitely make do with what they have! And if they don't have it, they make one. In your case, that's not a Bellett part or a badge or whatever; it's an actual manual! There are a few manuals around, but like all things Bellett, there can never be too much information! |
