I am in the shed looking . I have a good gt roling shell . That's a start. Found g200 complete twin cam needs a re build. Can any body tell me what the g200 might have come out of . Also should it be a good motor or not. Also what carbies I should I run . Gricey |

G200's usually come out of 117 coupes is my understanding. They also usually have efi on them i think. The manifold is a horizontal type that won't fit into a bellett. You need the ECGI manifold from a Gemini 1800 DOHC if you want to go efi. There was a car at the nats with a efi by the way. You can install most of the efi bits from a JD Camira or N12 Pulsar.... I have a G200 DOHC coming from Japan so will have same dilemna as you ! One suggestion i heard was to LPG it..... could be worth a look as gas conversions are fairly cheap if you can source some s/h bits. Not sure what tank would fit a Bellett but i think you would need a bout 60litres to get same range as petrol? You can also fabricate a manifold for them to run webers. One example was at the nats also of this. The yellow car i think. If you know a aluminium welder mate, then it would not be that hard to do. Tom I think has patterns to get them cast ? Or even do one for SU's. Space in the brake master cyl. area needs watching. Are they good ? Well they are are Isuzu.... and look great in a Bellett too. Not particuarly powerfull in this day of multi valve and variable cam timing though. 2c glenn

Gav described his ex-Glenn Percy/ex-Gunna (Dean)/ex-Dave G200 Bellett GT as a "torque monster" now that it's running a GM Delco system. |

Gricey I very much like my Delco fuel injection made from cheap bits easily picked up at Pick a Part but it is very much a DIY proposition. I had a heap of help from Ant and Ross and the way it transformed the motor was amazing but there was more than one time I considered scrapping it all and running Webers I think I heard on the grape vine some where that there was a Gemini Wrecker in QLD that was making a run of Weber manifolds for Twin Cam engines but that was a while a go. If you want to swing by and take my GT for a spin and have a look at my conversion give me a hoy. Here is a link to a lot of pics I took while doing my conversion if any body is interested. http://s451.photobucket.com/albums/qq23 ... 0Hardware/ |

Sure did . Still have it it's a g180 with twiin su carbs and extractors . I will have to get another set of extractors as well. Canot have to many twin cams I recon. Don't know if ant one needs it but I have a twin carb manifold to fit a g160 think it's a bit rare,. Gricey |

Striped the g200. Not good like the florian . Big ends little ends shot crank damaged. Bore damaged going to need a lot of work . Unless I find something major at the machine shop I still intend to rebuild it. Gricey |

I just found this thread. To clear it up, the delco is the '808 computer, and you find it on the JE camira, or the N13 pulsar, or the LD astra. Its also the same ecu as in vn/vp commodore, but the ignition module is different and at pick a part the commos get raided but most people dont even look twice at the pulsars. ecu/temp sensors/injectors/most the loom is compatible from the vn/vp though. You'll need to get an RB gemini distributor and cut the shaft to suit the depth of the twincam, and fit the original twin cam gear on the end of it (it rotates the other way). Then inside the distributor there are 2 chips. the first is the reluctor - keep that, and the next is the ignitor - remove that and connect the reluctor straight to the top of the ignition module. The isuzu injectors (jecs brand) are low impedance, but the GM items (high impedance and what you need) swap straight in. Then you need to make the coolant and temp sensors fit. Not hard, and if you dont have the right taps they are about $5 on ebay. M12x1.5 and M14x1.5 Wiring diagrams and help isnt far away on delcohacking.net if you wanted to try efi. I can help you with more info and advise if you wanted to go this way, the tune from my g200w is public here http://delcohacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=375 (3rd item down) and is what I based the G180w tune on. As they have the same heads on them the result for the g180w was very good! The g200w tune was originally made on a dyno locally. Also, you say G200Ws came from the 117. That is true but a lot of the g200w engines also came from the Japanese Piazza. There are minor differences and ways to see which is which (oil cap location, and oil filter mounting I believe), but nothing that makes any practice difference. Just nice to know where yours came from I guess. |
