As if we didn't have enuf idiots determined to ruin the best club plate system, its just got worse.
VicRoads was well aware of people removing pages from their log books when they had used all of their allocated days and replacing them with new pages when the log books were simply stalped together..... To combat this, log books are now sealed along the spine and not stapled.
Reports are now coming out that these low life's have begun stealing log books from cars on display and then removing the label inside the front cover to replace it with their own in order to gain more usage days..... So everyone, Victorians or elsewhere, please be warned to lock up your log books when you are not with your car.

Unbelievable! Poor knuckleheads.
NSW now has a 60 day logbook trial happening. Its going well from all I have talked to. 60 days is plenty for me, don't want to get bored stuck in 1 car!
It has resulted in the resurrection of one car here, so that is the minister's desired effect. Get 'em out and revived!
Cheers, Matt

That's amazing.

SA has had the scheme for years now with no issues; the only problem is modifications, which our scheme doesn't allow.

This has cut two ways; in some ways it's good as there are some cars that have been un-modified in order to comply with the scheme (and therefore be more affordable; important with those with multiple cars or a budget...or both).

In other ways, it means there are some cars that are permanently resting or only come out for 3 months at a time as we have a 3 month 'seasonal' rego system as well.

Seriously, 90 days is plenty for any enthusiast with an enthusiast car; that's almost twice a week for an entire year (104 weekend days in a year not including public hols) so anyone trying to dodge it is probably dailying CP use car! Stupids!

WE have 45 or 90 days here. If you run out of 45 days you can pay for the other 45 in the year.

But there seems to be always people out there ready to take advantage of any loopholes they find. I don't think Vic roads here anticipated just what 'might' happen. Like "Clubs" sprouting up with no meetings of their own and accepting cars it seems sight unseen. Same goes for the 'members'. Just a way to get modified cars on the road often, or get an old car on the road for a daily driver cheap.... and more. Club Permit car numbers have exploded in last three to four years.
