Ok, now I've got you, thanks for the pic.
I'm by no means a Bellett historian, just an observer over the years. The fully imported thing, yes, they were all produced in Japan, but I remember Gary telling me they needed a certain percentage of Australian content, to reduce sales tax or something, so we put in the heaters, carpets and radios here. All autos had these bits, bar the badges. Gary has even met the bloke from Penrith who made carpets for locally sold ones. The dealers also offered "deluxe equipment" where they added carpets, heaters, radios, and badges to manual cars. They didn't get the tinted glass, stainless window trims, padded armrest door pulls, two speed wipers, roof mounted grab handles for three passengers, clock, and heater blower of the genuine deluxe cars.
I've known of some examples that came in with these Japanese character stickers, and km/h Speedos that were said to be imported with no additions here.
But you prompted me to walk out the back to look, and I have 2 autos. One has no tyre sticker, and the other's is painted over, but I can see the Japanese characters showing through! Never noticed this before.
The stock stickers seem to have been added by Brisbane distributors. I have a 66 with one fitted.

.
The km Speedo may have been fitted later too, I know of others that have had them fitted. I have one in my parts box.
Cheers, Matt.
