My mate Brenton, whose parents were blocked from buying a Bellett during our post-war prosperity years by his Grandfather who said he'd refuse to service it, knows a guy who writes for Retro Car Magazine UK.

Well, SA is a gold mine for rat classics because we don't have annual inspections! I got asked to provide both my Bellett and my Bruce Ruston Isuzu Wasp.

Here are some of the photos:

Here's the ratter Bellett

Here it is again with Sarah dressed in her best 50s/60s gear. We all wore suits but I didn't take a photo of myself! Hopefully we'll get into the magazine in our hot gear.

Ever since I met Brenton, I wanted to get our utes together. My Wasp and his Lite Stout were both born in Japan in 1965. He reckons mine would win a drag race, but we didn't get the chance to line them up... perhaps next time.

Brenton not only owns the Stout and a Cortina Mk 1 (which I haven't put any pics up of - not that I don't like it but I'm running out of time and have to go out!), he also owns this nice little KE10 Corolla. BMW Brooke and Sarah were in their hot retro gear and had to have a bit of a pose (coz we made them do it).

I met a guy there called Andrew with the totally awesome ratter Beetle. The sign-writing is all original - and looks just fantastic. Like Bruce A Ruston Signs, apparently Klinger & Seeger still exist in Melbourne!

Darren's Beetle has less sign writing, but the race spot and the black stockies look totally horn.

Darren's wife Brook has this clean-as BMW 2002, featuring a monster-sized roof rack and retro gear!

It 's was good fun and hopefully we'll see a sick article out of it!

Cheers,

Wow,....Real cars !!!! And I can loan you some shinny shoes just to top it off. Ginsu taxi in her full glory, great crome strips. I drove a standard 4 door cortina 1500 in the early 80's. It was my mom's and I flogged it everywhere when I borrowed it  Then I bought my first car, one of those lovely "woppies" 1962 oval beetle. It was well worn, but you couldn't kill it. Dak, dak, dak, dak, dak, dak..... Army green, and all I needed was a nazi trench cote and a tiny moustache. Didn't last long, was wiped out at an intersection by an Audi going through a red light

Also great ute line up. I can dig the "yota" as well.

B.

Also, is this a taste of some big event comming up ? :P
