There is a website -
www.keepvid.com - which allows you to save YouTube videos.
It will ask you for permission to run a Java applet somethingother (and to trust the content).
So far I've saved both videos with no problems. It give you a bunch of formats to choose from to keep; I've kept .FLV format as I know I can open them. I don't know which is the best quality, but the FLV in highest quality (there were three FLV options) is about 14mb, which isn't much if you're on fast ADSL.
If unsure how to work it, as your kids!
