Hi all, can't believe I found this forum! I grew up with Belletts, was a member or at least my parents / Dad was. My first car was a 1965 1500. Till this day it's still sitting in dads paddock. It's a sorry sight now though :( I had a 67 after that then a 1500 deluxe. My brother had 1600 GT and Dad had the 1800 GT which I believe they still have but not running . My dream is to buy one again and get it on the road and relive some old memories! Unfortunately Dad no longer has an abundant of spare parts so it could pose a problem lol

Welcome Simmy,

With a little help from the great people and resource that is Bellettnet, you will hopefully get those sedans and GT's out of the paddock to relive the memories. Live the dream.

B.

Hi Simmy. How about you go & visit Dad/Broth, reminisce about those old times, ask just how different G.T.'s were to drive, get excited & tell them you'd like to try that, and offer to restore it and take them for a drive!
Seriously though, there are good people down your way that can help with parts, and probably find you a sedan fot not-too-much.
Nice avatar BTW, I wouldn't put my head there 'cause it might frighten people, but if I looked like you..............
:) Cheers, Matt.

BELLETTITIS has been known in the past to pass down female genes also, the only cure is to get one and live with it. I am also a long time sufferer.

Welcome Simmy.

This forum is full of some very strange people (me included) but dont let that stop you from enjoying the banta and humour.

Second the comment regarding parts. just have to ask and all of a sudden they start appearing on the post page.

Good luck getting the old boy back on the road.

Cheers

Hey Simmy, welcome aboard to Bellett.net.

Not much space? Belletts are perfect! The only car narrower is a Mini :P

Anyway, enjoy the forum and with any luck we'll see you at the nationals with or with out a car!

Cheers,
R.

Hey welcome on board!

We set up this forum to connect people like you with people like us, as we're all the same people!

i would have said 'welcome' earlier, but I was not enthusiastic to move after NYE. For at least two days.

Welcome again and here's to a Bellett-worthy year in 2011!

Cheers,

Dave

Welcome Simmy

Get your 65 model out of your dad's paddock.
There's not much that can't be fixed on them, especially with the help available. I've been a member for only a short time and have found the forum to be a great place to find help, encouragement and enthusiasm. Even if you've owned a Morris Marina no one will mind :P

Not too many moderns you can get your money back on. Buy A Commondore for 40 odd grand - 3 yrs on, 60% gone!
The other day I was thinking what all my Belletts cost - (Not much) If I were to sell 'em I'd probably get my money back.
The Subaru cost $34,400 8 yrs ago - now it's worth about $6,000. I couldn't lose that much on the Belletts if I gave them all away 3 times!!
Cars are consumables or fun hobby toys, NOT investments!
Matt's view.
Cheers.

Now that the forum is bringing a greater awareness of the Bellett to people and the fact that they are becoming a rare little vehicle their value is sure to increase.
I'd pay more for a tidy little tear drop then an XY/W falcon anyday.
