I think that's a guy called Jose! I saw those photos on Dik's website, I'm pretty sure.

That's a pretty random ute!

Cheers,

Dave

Just thinking about it, you can't really call this a "styleside" Wasp coz styleside usually is reserved for the pickups/utes etc that have a body-style flank.

These are normally called "stepside". In fact, it looks like the stepside was off something bigger and cut down - the tub is huge!

Hey, that makes sense! - Stepside - O.K. And yes, gleaned from Dik's site - there's no trickin' you, mate! The owner's name would have to be "Jose", wouldn't it?
Cheers!

This is a genuine Wasp with a Chevy Apache tub mounted on it (adapted to fit). It has a petrol engine in it. The owner Is Jose Zuniga. The car drives in Costa Rica. Jose has been several times on my doorstep for some parts and a good time ..... The car belonged original to his dad and that's why he rebuild it. There are not much Belletts or Wasps left in Costa Rica, because they ahd a real life of "working horses"

It's great to see the real m'coy exists on the other side of the world, and good times sharing it !
And our resident historian never ceases to amaze either. What type of petrol engine is it?? Surprise us !!

Just awsomely random.

it's a 1500 petrol iron head engine; originally it had off course a 1800 diesel in the past ....

1800 Diesels had a top speed of about 102kph I think, from what I remember from the brochure.

So, uh, good thing he changed it!

What are the chances that they used the tub off some thing like this.

he did Gav. have corresponded with Jose before and they used a Luv body and cut 3 inches out of the middle of it so it fitted correctly.
