With my name on nearly all these post, it probably seems like I am trying a takeover. Would the comment from Mr Bond been when the Squirrel was being fitted out with it's roll bar, as I remember Colin Bond as he was known then, was present at the roll bar makers place, basically denying a connection when invited to talk at a Bellett Car Club Of NSW meeting, from then on MR BOND was more correct. Were not Bellett GT's very successful in New Zealand Rallies under the same driver? I may be wrong! Ted. |

seeing as we're uploading old race pics.... Bathurst 1966. Forrest's Elbow. race winning Aaltonen/Holden Mini Cooper leads, then a Toyota Corona, followed by the Reynolds/Ferguson Bellett (the highest placed Bellett to ever race in the 500), another Mini and then what i believe to be the Bruce Darke/Don James Bellett. Treloar and Bond were using the same car they had raced in 1965, that being NSW reg DPN-088. enjoy!

It's a good thing we are still yougish pr91 as your project list is as big as mine . This is why i chose the ahrrr i will call it the treloar car as the sills even match photo 4 It takes hours of skill to get thosesills purrrfect and not a lot of money . I found a couple of teardrops both rust free one has banged up sills and rather spending $1000s of dollars this would be a better way to keep it than letting it return to the soil over the next 40 years. The second teardrop will be safely stored for a race car replacement his one is straight. |

Yes Ted it was the day of the roll bar instillation, and PR91, you seem to have had the same conversations with whats his name. Another to not like any mention of where they started from is Wayne Bell, who had the plum drive of George Shepheards HDT rally Gemini's, when asked how was it to run them, his reply was BEEN THERE DONE THAT, don't you love these boofheads. |

Just for the record, I asked Ike about the top of the front guard... They had some advertising there but for some races no advertising was allowed, so they had to cover it with tape, essentially. I think he said it was red tape? Looks pretty black in the photos, but then again it IS a black & white photo! |

correct Dave... red tape it was. they did leave the driver's names uncovered on the tops of the guards tho. i think we've got pics of it at other times with the signage showing too... somewhere amongst all the other stuff! |
