Hi people, GerrybellettGT (jnr) found this advertisement on Youtube and rightfully had to share it with us! I've moved his topic up to the General Bellett Chat section, mainly so people who don't look in this section at the stuffy old brochures etc will see it and maybe throw in their two cents worth. Also because this section I really did set up for brochures. Thanks Gerry Jnr for bringing this one to our attention first! He let the cat out of the bag first up with his find on Youtube, but it was only another 24 hours before I got a Facebook message from a workmate who saw the advert on TV. However, Isuzu do like to keep us guessing... they were pretty quiet on the Australian scene between 1970 and 2008 when the Isuzu D-Max was launched... and now their latest advertisement features a whole bunch of historical pictures of vehicles that we know and love! Of course, during those years from 1970 to 2008, there were plenty of familiar Isuzu products on the road; the Chevrolet LUV was fully imported from Isuzu and sold through Holden's dealers, while I have seen more than one early Isuzu Elf with "Bedford" badges on them, presumably sold through GM dealers also. There was a brief return to Isuzu branding with LUV's single-headlight replacement, the Isuzu KB, however this soon made way for the Holden Rodeo (aka KB/Chevrolet LUV/Faster). The Holden Piazza, Shuttle (Fargo) and Jackaroo (Trooper/Bighorn) were fully-imported Isuzu products, while the RWD T-series Gemini from 1975 to 1985 was built at Acacia Ridge in Queensland from a mixture of local parts with Isuzu motors and gearboxes, except the autos that were made at South Australia's Woodville plant. This same plant constructed the FWD RB Gemini from CKD kits fully imported from Isuzu. The problem with that was, unless you'd actually popped the bonnet of your car (or looked under the seat in the Shuttle), you'd really not know that your new Holden was actually an Isuzu. Then, all of a sudden, Isuzu ask buyers to put their faith in their 'new' ute. Of course, Isuzu had made a good name for themselves in the 1980s and 1990s selling small-to-medium sized trucks, but again unless you were directly involved in trucks, you'd probably not know if they had a good reputation or not! So the advertisement is a pretty good move; it shows the average, non-truck-driving, non-mechanic Aussie punter that his or her next private-use SUV pick-up splurge could well be an Isuzu, without alienating all the truckies who knew they were good anyway! Gerry's link in the original topic was for the low-resolution version. The URL for the high-res version is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYQe-d9nObM&feature=relatedBelow are some screen shots - I've picked out about 60 of the best, most relevant or most interesting ones. I MAY have broken the Forum though - never thrown up 60 pics at once and my system seems to have some problems loading them all up. If you have similar issues please let me know and I'll see what can be done about it! Attachment:

Awesome breakdown mate, but notably for me, the TX 550 (2nd frame of low res version) is missing. So how do you load so many pics in without the site saying "NO deal"? I'd like 'computer smarts'! BTW, how do you make one of those link thingys? Thanks & cheers, Matt.

Hi people, This page seems to have troubles loading after the blue dunger KB ute in Mozilla, but appears OK in Internet Explorer. I'm not really sure of a way around that... unless Ant does. Farmer: Firstly, is this what you're after? Attachment:

If not let me know; I've got leaching Isuzu promotional material off YouTube down to a fine art! I'm not sure why the system stops people from uploading more than a few pics at a time. I don't seem to have that limitation... this is another one for Ant. Sorry Ant! I'm good at driving computers, but not the 'mechanics' of what does what! To make a link, you simply copy the link from the 'navigation toolbar' (ie where the www address is) and then paste it in the forum. Then highlight the link you've pasted and then click the "URL" tool above the text box you are typing in. It is the last box in a line of boxes that are B i u Quote Code List List= [*] Img & then finally URL. This should turn it into a link. You can't be in 'quick reply' to do that, you have to have pressed "Post Reply" button so you get the full reply screen with all the colours, fonts and smileys, etc. I hope that helps! Cheers, Dave

I should be able to do that - I learned how to copy & paste last week at school. Our computer teacher at our primary school is doing kindy classes for us codgers. At least I'm not the beginnerest - there are 2 people who had never turned a 'puter on. Thanks for the lesson mate. Cheers, Matt.

Yeah Dave, sorry, failed to say thank you for digging out the truck frame. Yes, that is the 1959 TX 550 6 tonner, with split windscreen just like Dad's. Looks like some celebration with grille decorations & a ribbon & stuff. My first Isuzu ride that I can remember - Sydney to Bathurst over the Blue Mountains with a load of fruit & vegies. Fog, dark, and a long story attached. I loved that truck - the way the doors 'sang' when closed, the high-pitched hum from 5th gear, the grab handle on the dash & the plume from the stack. Ever find one, please tell me, I'll find something to swap for it. Thanks, Matt.
