Hey guys,

Mr Flibbles already saw this and posted on BCCV's Facebook page but check it out!

Not often we find a Wasp for sale...but this one will need work...

Interestingly it has a 1966.5 grille and 'automatic' badge just like Farmer's!

Here is the link:

http://www.pickles.com.au/damaged-salva ... 2402151877

Here are the pics for posterity (and if you're interested).

It's pretty rough; no doors or engine, but it DOES appear to have a spare screen!

Cheers,

Dave

Yeah, whoddya know? Another Wasp lives! Well, just. I had a look at the auction page, if I understand correctly, there is a $104 fee to pay to Pickles, so count that in. No doubt I will have to go and look, if I can. Its close by.
But there is no motor or box, and they look like Bellett guards as well as the grille. (Yeah, ironic it has the auto grille like mine.) No original seat either.

I wonder where they've all come from. Looks like a big stash of old tin has been dragged out of the paddock.
Interesting.
Cheers, Matt.

Sooo, I rang them......because I can't not.
It seems I read wrongly, $104 is the base charge for buyers of moderns. For these salvage types, its 11% on top of the sale price.

So if anyone is bidding, please let me know and I will stay out of it. 3 Wasps will probably do me.
But if nobody wants it, I will not be able to allow it to go to the scrappers. Rare spares & all that. And its only 100ks away. Good news is scrap prices are down, so the scrappers will probably not give much for it, so might be cheap.
It will be sold by online auction, pretty much like ebay.

Cheers, Matt

I've seen this ute for sale before.....
I can't remember where, but it's the same car, will never forget that tray headboard.
I vaguely remember a $400 price tag on it about 3-4 yrs ago but in the pictures I saw it had an engine sitting on the tray and had a rusted out original styleside tub for the back to go with it too.

If it had the original radiator I would be interested myself as mine is missing a few original bits.
Horn radiator wiring loom etc

Your right there Matt, wide 6 stud steelies (pretty rare) with a nice finish would look very nice!

Noticed on Facebook that the cars in this auction were all from a yard, council shut it down last year and cars were moved to current location over Christmas.

Looks like the chance for someone to knock up a sweet little rod!

If someone buys it to part it, I would be interested in a couple of parts!!??

Looks like when fitting bucket seats the handbrake was re located.
Way out fabricated mount bracket. With all the sedan parts on it they musn't
have been able to find 1 to use.

Sounds like a standard option to use sedan parts as they have used a few sedan parts on my Wasp.
Primarily a wiring loom out of a 67 sedan!

So update time. I was mistaken about the fees, that is for moderns. The charge is sale price plus 11%.
Bidding has began and will end on Sunday. I am able to pick it up as its not far away, so will bid to save the spares from the scrappers who will probably pick up any orphans. It is a dollar bid sale, so might be cheap!

I noticed there is a 73 Falcon hardtop shell, with no motor or box, many panels missing and surface rust all over at $4,800 already! Whats that about??

Cheers, Matt.

A mate of mine sold one of his spare XB GS Hardtop bare rolling shells about 3 weeks ago for $8700 and his original unrestored numbers matching XA GT Hardtop for $63,000 to the same guy 4 days ago

:!: Theres no explaining some things......

Well, I suppose they were common, so plenty of people remember a family member having one........and if you're under 40, they are from like, before you were born.......like me liking a late '50s Dodge Custom Royal or Chrysler 300c...... Or the ever popular '57 Chev to the masses.
Market forces.

Cheers, Matt.

The other bidder was from Wagga, and there is a crusher works there. This inspired me to bid further.
:D Landed! Done deal, just have to go pick him up later in the week.
Can't let em go, just can't.
;) Matt.
