By the way, did you notice that Bellett 1600 Fastback (white)? Did you have those ones there?

Cheers,

No way, we never got them here!

Mysterious beast that one; one source says only about 60 or 70 built, another source says 374, either way, not many!

One Japanese site I looked at once said "Not many were sold as they were ugly" - it said it in Japanese and I used Babelfish to get the gyst of what the website said.

The comment was probably correct; the rear end styling around where the rear pillar joins to the body is unresolved and the rear of the car has all these angles that are at odds with the rest of the car's more rounded styling. Having said that, if I could find one I'd have it!

I told my wife that I wouldn't buy any more Belletts, but body shapes I don't already own down count! So all I need is a wagon, 2-door sedan, fastback and a Bellett B. None of which I'm going to find out here in Australia!

A man can dream....

Cheers for putting that link up. I saw a picture there of someone rallying an E-type Jaguar. Who does that??!?!?!? Insanity!

Hi
64 fastbacks were produce ,3 are racing in japan , the rest are in a private collection of a japanese owner in the mount fuji area and have been since built were once offered to an australian free of charge all this person had to do was transport to australia this offer was made in canberra in 1992-93
I would like 1 of these vehicles as they are different and would look good beside 2 pr90's

If you are stating that only 64 cars were produced, three for racing and the remaining 61 cars are in one collection, there are some problems with this statement.

I know of two Fastbacks in Shizuoka, one is in a private collection, and that is the only one in that private collection. A second is currently being offered for sale from a car lot in Shizuoka and is listed on Goo Net.
There was a third Fastback to count, that one was listed for sale either on Goo Net or Car Town, and is no longer listed.
These three cars are owned by three different people.

I have also seen a 60's racing photo of a Fastback in GTX trim, with the side air ducts.

I am inclined to accept the 349 production number provided by the Neko Publishing book, until something proves it wrong or is more convincing.

I have found an additional Fastback. There is a Minkara/Carview blog page for an owner who is in Hokkaido.

According to a source who was in Eagle's yard last month they also have a few fastbacks at very reasonable pricing, on an as is where is basis. You would be looking at 10K tops landed in Oz. :!:
