There seems to be a little confusion - Four doors or two, two doors or four Well, it is red, and it was designed in the same project as Florian, but I'm thinking 2 doors. And I can't be cruel, I must share with my mates. I said someone must know where it is............... And that someone would be............... Attachment:

Oh dear, I seem to have omitted one piece of information. Now you must be thinking I'm some greedy guts. I did say "Playmate", not "Roommate"! The 117 is in Rye Park, but at Gary Carter's! Attachment:

And the "Very Nice Day" comment? Well, there's a story. - In 1978 I heard of 3 handbuilt sports coupes that came to Australia. I heard that 1 was destroyed by fire, 1 in private hands and 1 unknown whereabouts. This was before the interwebby of course, so I never even saw a picture, and I thought I'd never see one. Fast forward to the first 'new' Nationals (2006) and Gary Carter & I are in our element among the Belletts & their friendly owners. On a drive through Corowa we see what we think to be a Florian coupe at a roundabout. When we get back to the meet, there it is! The 'mythical' beast - a '68 117 coupe. And so I got to sit in it. That was a very nice day. So now I've had my first drive in one. O.K., quite a different beast of coarse, being 11 years newer, but still a tight riding, low slung sport coupe. And it was a short drive, but it sits flat & feels like it's begging for some twisty stuff. And to answer your question Mr Flibbles, EVERYTHING works! There are a few rust blisters in the body that need fixing before they get any worse, but other than that, it's ready for club rego - even came with a new battery! It was an absolute bargain. And Gary's grin? Well it's pretty broad! Cheers, Matt.

is the latest "gumtree" auto going to a new home??? sure has been removed from the site as of today at some time. will it go and join a recently purchased Florian and the Red Rat or is it going to a tired GT back verandah to keep him company and then again it may be going to become the twin of another tidy Auto parked close to the city of Adelaide it may become someone's every day drive as his super fast Blue GT is not, at the moment (sorry to hear that) then again i just may have disappeared and new owner will not be seen on this Forum???

Yeah, it is a little reminiscent of yours, Mr. Flibbs. In need of a real good polish, and there are a few dings, but the interior is pretty good. It starts & drives nice, just needs the brakes doing. It's a '67 5-bearing manual. I'm probably looking like a real greedy guts now, but it went something like this - "Yeah mate, well it's a job lot - one goes they all go!" So I had no choice, I wanted a Florian, I get a Bonus Bellett! And the white one, and the bits. The job lot. Fortunately for me, the Camry sold, and the Crown 'S' (must update that thread) too! So hopefully Tracy doesn't look this way - Just checked, still this way - And my face? You KNOW how that is. There's always room for ONE more!! Cheers, Matt.

To my understandng, The 1st 117 in Aus was owned by the the Late Mr Cohen, and yes I belive this car was destroyed by fire in a industry fire. I beleive that another car was imported after this, and that is still owned by a friend of mine, in very good condition here in Aus. Pearcesnr.
