Great photos Ted, I especially love the first one, it seems to capture the spirit of club racing beautifully......that gnarley, fire breathing thing all crossed up and scrabbling for grip, next to the Bellett..all poise and precision. Wonderful.
More please.

The smoke and sideways action isn't power, it's the Torana bathing in it's own oil, if you can zoom in on the Bellett, you will see Dave's typical head against the window style, either leaning into the corner, or having a rest due to the Torana's being "BEHIND" him.

Ted

Here's another photo of Dave in action, this shot actually precedes the 'Bargwanna Bang'.

Ted ol' mate, You haven't changed a bit! That enlarged Avatar shot shows you look the same as ever! Oh, wait, the photo could be 30 years old I suppose!

Great memories, good work.
Thanks, Matt.

I am beginning to wonder just how old and senile I am, I thought I put a picture of me with my current ride on, maybe I pressed a wrong button somewhere, or it may have been removed as not Bellettish enough, if the latter is the case, my apologies.

Could the Moderator let me know if the latter is the case so I don't commit the same error again..

Regardless, more Bellett pics to come if desired.

Hi Ted,
Thanks for the memories and please keep them coming, you should be able to post picks of your current drive under other cars and bikes, Did you own a white GT at some stage? and welcome to the site, have a few good memories from the Sydney Club as I was a member of the Qld Club from the early days. :)
Regards Geoff

Geoff,

I did have a white (very sad) GT at one stage, as Bellett Spares and Repairs, I picked up a few wrecks, the white GT, although driveable at the time, was one such wreck.

It apparently had been used to tow a boat trailer, at some stage it was reversed a little too far and took on some ocean, needless to say it was a wee bit rusty.

I remember going out to the Castlereagh Drags with it, on the way, it was like driving a piece of licorice (especially up around 80-90mph), it just wiggled its way along, about all that was holding it together was the roof, the rust in the floor and sills was "Extreme" to say the least. Needless to say, it went to the Big Bellett Heaven shortly afterwards..

The one I was thinking of was a real nice one, and had a burgular alarm that was keyed in the right hand front guard. I always thought that you owned it.

OK, here's another photo of the Squirrel at Amaroo Park, similar shot to the one Dave's son put on.

I have placed a photo of my current ride in Other Cars and Bikes.

As a matter of interest, this is the corner I upended my previous (before the Squirrel) Bellett (I think it was known as 'Kamikaze')

The white GT you had Ted, as I recall was the first late model GT I had seen in Aus, it was a shame to cut it up and pull apart, the rust was of the worst we had seen at the time. Geoff I think the GT you are thinking of was Bruce Flemings ( Firengine ) or Geoff Roberts, as these where the only white GT's I recall apart from the chap that worked at Gilbert and Roach in Sydney, who's name I can not recall and was a walking part number of every bellett part avalible,

You mean like as in a Jeremy Clarkson on Top Gear? Good try - BUT not even remotely close!

The Bonnett standing on end should give a hint.

Ted.

About 30 years, you win the Grand Prize, a ride in my Falcon if I get along to the Bellett Nationals.

Geoff,
I think you are talking of Norm Dickson, he was definitely a walking parts book for Belletts and Florians. Unfortunately Norm is no longer with us!!!
