Again, not mine but belonging to the same friend as the last one.. This is a MkVIII Hillman Minx, made by Isuzu as the PH13. This was the first Hillman to have the OHV engine which looks so familiar to Bellett owners, the ancestor of the Bellett engine. This one has been saved from the crusher twice now. In 2009 someone rang me from Tumut about this car which had been sitting in a shed for several years. I posted a message about it in the Hillman yahoogroup and heard no more. Unknown to me someone from Canberra went and saved it. Then a few months ago he decided he would never get around to fixing it and was losing the storage for it so it had to go. Eventually my friend in Victoria decided she liked it and it was duly collected. It will need a much more extensive resto than the other one, but the engine still runs, the body is solid and interior should scrub up OK.

oh to have a 20m x 30m shed that i could just park these cars as they come up and either drive the choice of the day or move them onto a true enthusiast.
the point is your saving them... but some people just dont understand car collecting is just that!

great save guys. love them early Hillman's

Hope they didn't pull it on to the trailer by the bumper.
Looks a little out of shape right where the chain is.

Seriously sweet looking car though
