While I'm on a kick of Florian brochures, here's is the beloved second generation model.

This, the ol' PA20, looks to be about the most 'common' of the two models sold here, however much of the advertising and road testing shows the earlier model with the flat headlights.

The headlights on this update model were ever-so-slightly pointed; something that is obvious from the striking front view of the car on the cover of the brochure!

The economy is expanding and suspect men acting like spies can read the finance section and know that Florian 1600 Super Deluxe ownership is not far off! Trade in that pesky little Bellett!

This brochure is a single page folded in the middle and, like most of the other Florian brochures I have, is a very annoying size! Well over easily-scannable A4 anyway. Inside the brochure, we see a smorgasbord of great shots. I've shown all the individual shots except for the seating, which was hard to scan due to its darkness. Note the full length centre console with ashtray and cigarette lighter for the kids in the back! Perhaps this is a feature of the Super Deluxe over the puny Deluxe specification we got here.

Here's the full scan of that double page:

Within, we see another three-quarter shot from the front; this time full length! However it was too hard to scan like that as the join was in the middle of the picture. Here's a bit of it:

You can enjoy its Datsun KP510-esque rear end in full glory... note the extra badge under the 'Deluxe' badge on the c-pillar. Unsure what this is, but I imagine it herald's this vehicle's superness over the standard Deluxe.

It was certainly apparent that the Aussie-delivered Florian Deluxes were quite deluxy - they had carpet, heaters, weird lights behind the controls, a clock and that groovy tinted glass, however the Super Deluxe appeared to get that centre console AND.... air conditioning! Granted it takes up the entire spot where the glovebox was... but those oval eyeball vents echoing the oval dials are just too awesome to ignore!

Plus at least you get a pocket hanging under the dash to put your Kents in. That centre stack under the dash also appears to be bigger than the local item as it also includes the air con controls.

Under the dashboard photo is a set of pictures showing another wild Florian feature.

Left - the standard parkers in the headlights...
Right - the hazard lights....
Centre - the bizzaro parkers that are in the indicators! Also fitted to Aussie-delivered Florians, this enables you to put on ONLY your left-hand parkers or ONLY your right-hand parkers... or all of the parkers... but only the ones in the blinkers. These appear to be some sort of low-power bulb and are useful for parking your car on the kerbside in fog or snow! I've seen this feature on some 1980s Eurotrash BMWs and Benzs, but this is the only time I've seen it on a Japanese car!

Here's the all-important spects table. Haven't had a good chance to look at it yet...

Mate, you the brochure master! Very nice. 8-) Air-con. You could freeze your passengers face off!
They were aiming to please - so many ways to warn your car is parked! Luxy lay-back split bench auto for 6 seats. Special!
Years ago, the Florian seemed very upmarket. I suppose it was direct competition for Mazda 1500s, & is pretty comparable.
Thanks for showing.
Cheers, Matt.

I just noticed that the Super Deluxe has a big rubber strip on the bumper! Man that looks much smoother without it!

Awsomely SUPER deluxe. No kids smokin' in the rear buckets.....this model looks executive or underworld (yakuza) !!

Crazily inovative for it's era. Compact and affordable, but nothing spared.

Now...who's the shady dude in the dark tweed hat ?

Again, awsome.

How come Isuzu never gave the Bellet a chance to have a modern touch. Last time I saw an Isuzu car is the Impulse it would really be great if Isuzu starts producing its diesel powered cars once again and make them all hybrid as well.

My Dad had one of these. The car not the brochure. Dad had a car yard and he traded it in but couldn't sell it so it became my Mum's car for some years. Nice car to ride in as I recall.
