Dave, I would personally use Premium Unleaded, I find that Mobil premium is the best for mine. Cheers Steve

Davo,
Interested to see how you got on with the filter. I used 1 of the Nissan filters in mine, but I could'nt get it to seal off. My cork gasket seal may be to hard. It has a shiney finish to it and also the filter may nor be sealing properly in the centre. With all the spares that I have, it was the best. I have some leftover cork material from when I made the rocker cover gasket. Will make a new 1. I have a new [R2224P] filter that the tin base plate fell off. 406 superglue fixed that. Test time next weekend.

I pressurized my fuel tank to do tests. You will need another person to give you a hand. This way you will pick up any leaks in your piping as well. Right up to the carby. I've had leaks at the banjo fitting on the filter and the fuel pump. Wet & dry on the sealing face of the filter, banjo fittings and the banjo bolts. New alloy washers. I use Hyundai sump plug washers. Right size, and not too hard like some of the copper washers on the market.

Dave.

Davo,
I went and bought a filter on Saturday arvo. Sliced it open that night and removed element. It's uncanny how that filter is nearly the same as the original. Only difference that I found was the hole diameter. Put an extra 'o' ring to seal it off.
Won't be this weekend to fireup car. Looks like it might be next.
Here's hoping.

Dave.

Looks spot-on Davo, great work!
A cheap solution to the disappearing parts problem.

anyone know what the filter crosses over to in ryco or another brand?

Its all good it says on the supercheap website it is a generic inline filter, i guess i will hack a couple of the filters up at work and see what falls out of them!
