Anybody know if the inlet manifold from a Jackaroo will fit on a G200 DOHC engine ??
they look similar but I am not sure if the engine side will be the same? (probably not !)
If I can get the 117 engine it has the manifold that won't fit a bellett. Need to change to the ECGI type.

I'm looking way in the future here at moment. Prime reason to get the 117 engine is the gearbox with idea maybe one day to fit the DOHC to 2nd car if it proves to be worth re-building.
Was planning to go the Astra/Camira Delco computer conversion route for the efi. For that i need the ECGI type manifold or 2nd choice, make my own but that won't look 'factory'. Or if can find some GT type carbies, just fit them !

Its unfortunately been slow/ no progress but as you recalled, I have started making a wing to add to the rear of the std g / box mount to retain the original holes. Did not think about using the front hole for the back. Fitting the twin cam with su carbs - 5 speed at this stage -- I did buy a home made twin webber manifold off Gumtree -- turned out to be in steel -- not sure about that ceramic coat? or see greg ?
Got caught in a backward spiral with rust in the Engine bay shock towers , removed the front guards to find more suprises in front of sills, behind the rubber dirt guards near the top under the windscreen
cheers

Ah, the dreaded tinworm in the towers. Something that seems to take quite a long time to show itself. And repair.
SU's are ok though. Webers nice but i think a bit pricey to buy and setup.
I just copied Gregs info on the EFI conversion. Lot's of questions really left on that one but no hurry for me. Still waiting for the car. I had a look at the Delcohacking.net pages. There's a lot of info there on fitting a PUlsar/Astra/Nissan efi system to various engines. Last weekend i actually went to the wreckers to sus out the cars and actually bought an ECU too. ($41) No time to lift all the other bits needed and a lot to learn too.. Anyway, carbs are fine for now.

as greg said.... nope. manifold isn't even close. those 4z series manifolds are interchangable with G-z gemini series engines tho, and we all know they won't fit a G-w. Glenn.... how bout Weber manifolds with 4 throttle bodies? gives a carb look and sound, but advantages of EFI. talk to Gavin and Ross about Delco too. Ross has done a few and swears by it, and your old white GT that Gav has is Delco'd now.

Yes I have seen what Gavin has done on delco hackers .net. I prefer to have a factory look if possible. Not after the last word in performance. Just s cruiser really. Carbs though are simpler for a car used only occasionaly. Depends what I decide to do with the 117. Dohc engine really and how well the the sohc runs too.
