Just had my carbies tuned and the car is running sweet, Out of curiosity I had Rufus run up on the dyno after the engine rebuild (plus 600km). Interesting that he made 98.4hp@4900rpm. Seperate test to 5200rpm 170kph showed a level off.
It only has a mild cam 1/8" bigger extractors and a bit of porting. Carbies are too small to achieve any more power. Not bad considering manufacturer's specs show 91horses at the flywheel 8- Good flat torque graph too, higher than manufacturers rating.

car looks good ..... all the work you have done on motor and only gaining 7 horses over standard not good :roll: you would expect more :D

thats rear wheel HP, not quoted engine power. There are losses in the trans. so the rear wheel HP measured is pretty good I think.

Thats a big improvement the best guide would be research whp stock on 13 inch wheels/tyres ;) i think you would be supprised.

Yeah Geoff, considering a manual transmission car typically loses 16% of its flywheel
horsepower that means my engine is producing 133 net HP at the flywheel, whopping 45
more HP than standard G161. Greg, I am running std profile 13" wheels.
How did Mildred's 1st big drive go today?
I have been installing my new quarter window rubber seals today.... Bit tedious, and I discovered why the
LHS was siliconed shut... The top pivot spot weld is broken off. :o if araldite doesn't work the window will have
to be siliconed shut again :evil:

We covered over 400km today 5 belletts 2 mazda rotories and a toyota. Mildred has been good,missy has a new engine and liz drove her today for the first time they are bonding quite well. OLyella had the charge light on but when we pulled up for fuel a wire was off, Okka and Trish,red bell has a temp sender issue. so far so good we head home tomorrow from gayndah

It's only a rivet drill it out and replace it with a small stainless bolt and nut lock tight it. easey fix no 1 will pick it unless we tell em :oops:.
