yes i agree that LPG could be a much better and easier option, Glenn. with a EFI motor, you just need ignition and spark with electronic distributor, gas adapter ring and tank and gas line and filler setup. and some wiring and a gauge in the cabin and your away. tuned to extra advanced ignition timing and checked by LPG fitter for correct flow, and your away
much cheaper than EFI install and setup. 2nd hand reckon about $500 with in date tank. 45 litre would fit in bellett nicely.
one day....

I have a friend in the gas business who can probably do me a good deal. Anyway, food for thought perhaps if i eventally decide to fix up the spare Sport and fit a DOHC to it

you might well be right re the full reg, Brett. There were several V8 powered Toyotas i saw there.
There is no real problem getting a modifed car on the Permit system. It has to be engineered though, of course. There is no provision for modified cars after 1949 to be on the Hotrod plates so the H plates are there for that.

Those super mods, V8 engines in small Toyotas etc, of the early cars, would NOT be allowed in NSW under the Conditional Registration Scheme (Club Rego). Only mods allowed are those of the same era and provided they do not jeopardise the safety of the vehicle, I.E. alloy wheels of the period, brake boosters etc. They may be allowed under the NSW Hot Rod Conditional Rego Scheme. Dave M. It's an interesting area, Dave. You will even find vintage and veteran cars on Club/Historic reg that are modified and nobody turns a hair. eg, I'm told that 'T' Model Fords only ever had transmission brakes. No wheel brakes at all. But many if not all, T models now have early 40's era hydraulic brakes fitted to them. You can also buy a kit of new parts to do the job. Ok, it's a 'safety' issue but modified is modified.

You VICS don't have much variety in your tail lights!!!! Where are the teardrops and the 1969s?!?!??!! No show on Glenn's Lego-land Sport either!! There's a thread on Japanese Nostalgic Car including photos of all your cars (except Steve's for some reason... can't imagine why!!!) http://japanesenostalgiccar.com/2013/01 ... more-24372Sorry Steve we know your car is a trophy winner... but to the untrained eye it does hurt the retina! Hence why eyes need training.

Oh hey sorry I just noticed this was from AGES ago... the post on JNC was only done back on 08 January so it didn't seem like such old news!!
I guess that's why the Sport wasn't there... probably wasn't on the road yet! Time flies when you're having fun (or driving a Bellett.... same thing).
