The last few days have seen the highs and total lows of humanity!! Where else would you put a post if you needed to get something off your liver, chest or whatever.

Here's the beef: Last day of good weather for a while and on leave, so why not take Blue Beastie for a last blast to run an errand to the Chemist. Great idea !! Park in packed car park in the only spot available, which always makes me nervous anyway :? Mention at this point that a Bellett can be put two wide in the smallest parking lots with ample room to spare to the car(s) next door.

I come back out after purchasing items in chemist, walk towards drivers door of GT and almost die of shock, anger, I don't know what to feel :o     :o. There is a deep dent in the door skin, so deep you would have needed a good whack with a pin hammer to duplicate it, let alone letting a door swing open on it $%@&

At this point I look at the car next door, a snotty 1990's metallic marone Ford falcon with a personalized state/crows plate 3344. Yes, the paint left on GT and the cruddy strip on the falcon door pretty much line up. So it's back into the shop to ask politely who's car it is. Aha, belongs to this retiree couple how vermantly deny anything but I manage to coax them into the parking lot for him to open the door to see if it all matched. With smart arse comments from the old f@#% like : "oh, that's the passenger side. I can vouch for my wife and what SHE was doing" and "Hahaha, if I had a car like that, i certasinly wouldn't take it into parking lots, haha.."
And comment from his wife "I know it's windy, but we always take care in parking lots". Well, BITCH, your car certainly doesn't look like you take much care :x

Anyway, when he opened his passenger door, bugger me dead the hieght, paint, and telltale on his car was as well as confirmed, exept it was 2 inches out WTF.....Still denying it, and there is not much I can do apart from summize the old coots, cunning as they are, and possibly UNINSURED have dliberately moved the Falcon forward enough so there is evidentary doubt.

I can live with the dent, but what is hard to stomach is a pair of old pricks were sooooo dishonest, for whatever reason, possibly because they were TOO STINGY TO BE INSURED !! So I'm hoping however you are, is reading this right now as I'm telling the world about your dishonesty. In America, the dude who's door you damaged may not have been so nice, and at least pulled a gun out at you, shot your tyres out or even worse. I hope carma bites your goddamn arses off   . I'm hoping the snotty Falcon broke down or was written off on the way home by some idiot in the traffic   I cannot hex or rant at you mofo's any worse of fear of this article being pulled.

b. :x   :x

it just reflects the attitude that is becoming all the more common these days.
i can remember teaching my kids 25 years ago that when you open your car door, you do it carefully as you may be close to someone else's car.
These days...
stuff you , Jack. this is my space and i dont give a rat's what i do or what you think. it happens on the road, parking etc etc.
thats why here is SA, they have now made it LAW that if someone alongside you indicates 3 or more times to change lanes and you can see the indicator, you are obliged to give them space to move into your lane! This doesnt mean pulling away from the kerb except for buses which we have to give way to here as well.
all because the A..H.... here in SA, would accelerate and close up any gap if you indicated to change lanes. All the time, this happened!!

so i now indicate and count 2, then start moving over. if the other driver has to slow, then he does as they are obliged.

but it doesn't stop the honking and other bad behavior as a lot of people don't know the road rules or choose to ignore them.

and also the reason i run a traffic Cam in my car whenever i am driving. no more arguments, its on film.

Don't hold back, Bruno; tell us what you really think!

Did you get their details anyway? Rego number or anything?

In theory, it's still good info to get!

I'm sad for your pain!!!

Cheers,

Dave

that plain sucks, mate. I hope karma does bight the culprits big time.

Gone is the respect that people once had, i remember growing up and mum and dad always telling me to be careful at the shops when opening car doors. I try to get my boys to respect others and their property and hope it sticks.

It does look rather sharp and deep for paintless dent removal but could be worth a try some are amazing and can work absolute wonders. I know when ever in the past I've always tried to park the Morris in the far spots where nobody parks yet that doesn't help.

I don't want this topic to over shadow the important stuff like Daves "2013 Nationals Reminder...Yo!!" So please take heed of that.....I'm peeing myself like Donkey in anticipation :P :P

Ok, so let ranting continue:

Damn right Davo, sometimes we need to adopt a little of that mongrel just to keep sanity, even though it ain't right in the end. But that's why I thank everyone for your words of support and other stories on this thread. Thanks to Bellett.net for allowing me to vent like Mt. Saint Helens. It's certainly got the sh@# off my liver about it, and in the scheme of things it ain't so bad. Yes, she still is an AWESOME GT, i can't see the dent when I'm enjoying the ride, and she goes like a pack of wild dogs on heat.

There were no injuries, deaths or write offs. But my feelings still stand for these people with no apologies. And if i told you what I REALLY thought, well....I guess it may have been pulled from the forum, Dave ;)

I still suffer pain both physically and mentally, from being poleaxed 30 years ago by some crack head speeding through a red light. I am greatfull to be alive. But i get fairly light on the trigger when it comes to traffic idiocy.

I hear and know what you say, Chris. Since when did the right hand fast lane become the slow lane, only for he left lane to become the IDIOT LANE, for there to be a pile up at the next set of red lights ?  Since when do you need to prop at a roundabout 'cos a taxi has sped through on your left, only for the driver to give you a cheesy grin from under his turbin on the way through? What about bus drivers who pull out anyway, even though you are already 3 quarters of the way up the side of it with nowhere else to go ? We already have enough problems on our roads, but with understanding simple road rules, a bit of courtiousness and self preservation could easily be prevented  !!

Thankyou good Bellettiers, B 8-)

I feel for you. One week after getting my original white GT on the road, I had a front guard dinged in similar cirumstances. But i was there when they did it..........they said its an old car so what's your problem. What can you do? Next to nothing (legal)
I was going into Patterson Cheney, the dealers down here who used to stock Bellett parts. (and later dumped the lot)

Yeah Mr. O. The thought did cross my mind at the time, even death to those

Now I've calmed down I'm piecing together the phsycology behind these peoples thinking. I'm sure they initially thought my pimped looking GT belonged to a devil worshiping member of the Sphinx so they didn't want to take responsibility out of fear. But when I approached them reasonably, looking like some gentleman from the burbs, they played along with the plan they had set up to begin with. Hence the smart arse comments.

I have a plan !! It shouldn't be too hard to find out where these people live. I have enough info and Adelaide is a small town. Come Bellett Nationals, we could organise several drive bys during the weekend in MANY BELLETTS, to put the fear of god up them and let them know, in no uncertain terms, THE BELLETT MAFIA DOES EXIST  ;)

Just a twisted thought  :P
