Hi guys this is more of a detailing question, Im giving the florian a light cut and polish and when i get close to the window rubbers its leaving black smudges over the polished parts, is there a way to prevent this or do i have to just keep going over the black smudges till it comes off? (also noticed the same thing to a lesser extent when washing the old girl) thanks for any tips or advice guys!
and if it was my bellett i would never notice as that just gets the odd hose down being the rat it is!
cheers guys Paul

the stuff i get doesnt have ethanol in it yet.... although it may contain traces of diesel at times! i do try not touse petrol on my paints but it is great for getting tar off, usually wash the area straight after too.
i tried bullitts suggestion and it seems to lessen the marks quite a bit, doesnt eliminate them entirely but makes them alot less visible, i will go over the window surround area again later as im running out of light now!
next job is to polish the hubcaps and chrome, then zip tie the hubcaps on!
