Not sure how accurate this is, but i heard that G150 blocks can be bored to 1600cc.

that may work, but for the purist at heart it still says G150 on the block.

depends how anal you want to be regarding originality!
some do, some dont, some sit on the fence and cheer

Gemini rods and pistons will fit after being bored. Warning check deck heights as every engine we have done has different deck heights. In 1 case we took 30 thou off. So clearances need to be checked.
Chev luv will be a good donor engine and a light conversation with opr91 a couple of weeks ago to reference on rebuilding engines we had a deep and meaning full on the luv engines. The g161 comes in three variants early and late in the push rod style before the Gemini engine.
Both stamped g161 and look the same on the outside but inside the provision for a 5 bearing block exists the rear main seals is a round rubber seal instead of a wick. Timing chain tensioner is hydraulic. But the timing cover will look a little different only a real purist will pick up on it 8-)
I believe a S.A member wrecks a few luv's :?:
Also cam bearings are a little hard to find

correct we have wrecked a few. but all were gemini series engines.
only early one i have seen in last 5 years or so was the Vic wreck one and it may or may not have sold and the NSW country which your truly bough home for myself. and its way too good to wreck!

will keep asking and keep looking. our oz luv trucker dumped a few of the early ones before he realized Bellett guys wanted them.

G161.... good luck.
I've got a couple. 1 is allocated to a car, 1 is spare, but I'm not parting with either.

a G150 will go to 1622cc if done right.

a reality check here, means that the G200 DOHC engine I bought in from Japan, will need to find a new home. It also has a 5 speed but I will most likely keep that for the Sport.

You would need to check if head bolts line up and there is room for the push rods? Assuming the OHV cam shaft would fit?

This is part of an 1800 SOHC head gasket you could compare with the OHV gasket.
