Stumbled across thos show on 7Mate TV last night.

Doing up a Chev LUV, 1974 model. Bit of a mess originally.. All the usual mods, hood scoups, flames, new paint grille, wheels etc.

Pictures are off the TV screen so not great but you will get the idea. The rear tub had a canopy on it. That was ditched and a custom glass lid that rises up horizontally was fitted. Inside big stereo system, speakers, X-box etc.

it was a bit over the top, especially if you wanted to carry anything in the back........ now full of speakers and amps.

I noted with much sadness that they pulled out a fairly good-condition interior....it was the "Mikado" which was an upmarket version; had all the "Mikado" badges on the door trims etc. Well, it did until they threw it all on a pile and jumped on it.

Yeah, I liked the original version better even though the rear camper canopy looked a little Wolf Creek-spec!

I never heard of the Mikado as a model variation before. They did stick a Mikado badge somewhere on the end result though. Typical of that show though, they go over the top and i often wonder what happens later as reality sinks in to the owners. Do they rip out and sell some of the stuff put in. Certainly practicality is lost on many of these 'updates' or what ever they call them.

The Mikado was only available in the US, Had the striped trim, three spoke steering wheel and
Badges on the tub and glovebox.
Nearly wound up with a steering wheel for my Half Luv! :D

Having seen some of their work it should be "Bog My Ride" :?

unfortunately they tend to cosmetically update the cars and tend to destroy them in the process, I think they may even have shares in a fibreglass and bog factory and the results get quite scary!

I would have prefered the origional version just restored body wise, with a set of 4 nice wheels on it! would almost be a perfect candidate for a horror movie!
