Does anyone have any idea what and where this Wasp is from? I guess it's a local market one from the '70's but it's the only pic I've ever seen?
Any ideas? Brett? Dave? What do you think??

is the 67 Wasp they had in japan. remember that ALL our Wasp's were the 65 spec and came in in one shipment of 122 of them, so no matter if they weren't sold until 67 (like mine), they were a 65 model, so we only got the first incarnation of them. that style front followed the 65, and used the same front styling as the 67 Bellett "B". Dave has a brochure of them. From what i can work out, the rest of the Wasp was the same as the 65 tho.

Cheers Brett! I realised ours were all the same batch but didn't realise that they'd change the Wasp straight away from the four head lights to the one piece ones. Thanks for the info

Yeah apparently mine was sold in 1967 as well despite being a 1965-batch car (uh, like all our Wasps). But yeah, those Bellett-B lights are something else... I'm sure I've seen them on other Belletts as well - non-Bs I mean.
BTW Brett I don't have a Bellett-B brochure myself but have saved one from a website that I may never find again! But it's saved, that's the main thing. Pity the scan isn't ultra-hi-quality though. When I'll get the chance I'll post it. But I want to post all my brochures first!
Cheers,
Dave

Hi Ken, I think from what I've pieced together using my brochures, the 'square' style headlights on that Wasp seem to have been gradually introduced across the range. They appeared in about 1967 on the Bellett B (PR30 - 1300cc & PR40 - 1500cc): Attachment:

Then they appeared again on the 1970ish Bellett 1300 sedan (PR10). If you check the brochure section, you'll see that this car had the long, flat lights of the post-1969 models, so it was probably not out at the same time as the Bellett B, which when compared against similar brochures, seems to line up as being a 1967-model (same brochure theme, same interiors etc). I imagine that the Wasp seen above may have been a 1970ish model with a 1300 motor. What I can't confirm is if the Wasp 1500 then had the same front or not as the 1500 sedans (4 round lights, black mesh grille with x4 slim chrome bars), or if it was available at all! Typical!

Hi Dave part no 21544-126 4 h/light grille fitted to PR 10/20 Std sedan 2& 4 door 1967 model " 21544-133 single rectangular as per wasp fitted to pr 10 /20 deluxe 1967 A similar grille assy was fitted to pr 30/40 std & deluxe sedan of 1969 model and some export to New Guinea models as well as PRD 30 std 4 door deisel model.
Same grille as pr30/40n std & deluxe seems to be fitted to PR 40 FBC gas powered commercial passanger vehicle of late 1966to early 1968
There was also a later model sedan of 1970/71 that had strip type tailights as well as rectangular type t/lights
From what i can resource with limited books the 70 ish wasp could have on some models depending on export or home models a grille assy similar to Florian but unconfirmed from source
Now I am totaly confused Cheers Ken

This is what makes Belletts so interesting! They keep you guessing!
