And it WAS a great day for Isuzus to bask in the sun. And for mine was the best All Jap Day yet, not only the turnout of faithful but also the variety and odd ball selection in the paddock :D

Josh, Goerge, and i had organised to meet up the road to do the trip to Glenelg together on what turned out to be a hot SA March day. What I didn't expect was Flying to be in his gun metal GT when i got there....so reminded me of my first one, fogs and all, almost fainted :o A young collegue and freind also followed us in their bosozoku style 80's Coronas. Sorry we lost you in the light sequence Josh but you were only a few miutes behind in the end.

Always tops to meet the clan.......Thanks for a great day, in no particular order of greatness.... Josh, Goerge, Dave, Ross, Chris and freind, Rob, Paulo (yes, Flori should have lined up). And special mention to Andrew who grabs me by the shoulder like a teacher busting us like school kids at the back of the oval , as we were all mellowing under a tree in the heat of the arvo.

As for Josh's Wasp with almost a tonne of unlikely characters on the back, I've just had a thought for another 50th aniversery comp. How many mofo's can you legitimately get on the back of a Wasp and take the photo to prove it :P  :P

Oh... and now for a few photos. Not many, as i would be covering some of the great pics from Dave and Oz again.

I thought my young collegue who lives in the hills with his Bush Bosozoku 80's Corona needs a mention cause 1. he loves Jap and this is his first AJD, and 2. He worked hard to get the basic Corona to present as well has he had.

Also a GTR inside a GTR, Josh's tub as awesome as ever, and Goerges GT a treat. Oh and Oz absorbing the aura of standing between a pair of Romans.

And a few more pics......

This Subaru Vortex was worth a mention. I believe although younger than Belletts, very few exist in Ausrtalia.

Ross had the drone out again and flying successfully, nice promo shot against the Norflok Island pine trees.

This Mitsubishi Lancer was sporting an Astron 2.6 litre fully worked.

The "Zombie ute" was there also.

And ......drum roll please  (bit like taking a selfie) couldn't resist these pics at ground level when many had left, just to show why we get exited about Belletts. Look at the lines of a GT and the comparison roof and front screen lines of Belletts  ;) :D 8-)

Hey guys,

Just posting a few pics from the drone of the day and a couple of pics from the ground...

As usual it was a great day with a couple of hundred cars... well, count them if you want ;) Once again the organisers did a great job and it was a very relaxed meeting with classics and drifters at the same event. Very cool!

Hey Ross. Saw you buzzing the drone around..... but had no idea you put it into the stratosphere for a while :o  I guess that's what it may have looked like sky diving into All Jap Day

Oh, and really......Dave watching me hump tailgate of a Wasp

Thanks for the big ups, it was a bit of a harrowing day for the drone with the first crash in the 18 months of flying but also some of the best footage and photos from it at the same time...

I'll see if I can put a clip together for YouTube, the show looks awesome in a couple of the fly bys!

Cheers,
R.

Ross,
How high can the drone fly before loosing contact, some of these look like they were taken from on top of a building taken from those heights??
WHAT A GREAT TOY!! Some serious tech in that machine!!

Hey guys,

The drone has a limit of about 300m (100ft in the old language ;) ) give or take a few and if it goes out of range it will return until it is range so it can't be lost like that which is great!

The shots that I took early on Sunday had a mechanical gimbal on board which meant I could move the camera around a bit while in flight but it spends most of the time out of wireless range for the camera so I can't actually see the angle of the camera!

Over the day I took about one thousand photos but as per most digital things there would only be a handful that are keepers plus a bit of footage... Now, back to editing the footage to see what I can put together!

Cheers,
Ross.

ha ha! Yeah, typo... 1000ft in the old language :)

The height can be limited by the software to less but that is about the range of the controller without boosting and I think you might be right, that high one was pushing it a bit ;)

When Ross was messing with it at Kerry's place, he lost it for a bit. Not sure what he did; like if he hit a homing button or something, but the thing came back and actually snuck up on Ross from behind! He was all like "gah!".
