Thought I lost 1 of my first notebooks from early seventies. Found it tonight looking for something else. About '72 I paid a visit to a company called United Motors. 72 Franklin St. Adelaide. I can't remember if it's been mentioned before.
Dave.

The dealer in Sydney (Auburn) was Sentinel Motors, at the BP Garage. The NSW Club started many an Event at that garage and the BP garage is still there trading as BP. D.

Centenial Hall in Adelaide was at the Showgrounds. That building was demolished in 2007 to make way for that massive hall they have now.

Ah that makes sense!
Hey CQGT Dave; I have the ex-United Motors parts books somewhere; United became Metro Holden and moved out of the city to 1 Port Road, Thebarton.
A colleague knew a guy there and found out they still had the books, so I got a PR20 book and an exercise book with some other stuff written in it from memory, for a carton of beer. If I'd known their condition ahead of time, I would have bought a cheaper carton of beer!

As most will know us qlders had the old bellett car club badge remade. They are based on early car club badges. We have a representative involved from each state icca is JA vic PR91 SA Dave and qld Myself Tassie members and redback can get them I required from any o the above if required. If there is enough interest they will be available for $20 each from your local club or forum member as above. I am into the final stage of the template for these the writing I have asked to be gold not nickel. can you advise how many you would like and they will be distributed closer to the birthday bash. I will put up a picture of the qld badge as they are well made.

as stated by Greg (gt orphan), these are $20 each, and will be distributed closer to the date.
each club will do the distribution, so in Qld, see Greg (gt orphan), NSW see Julie (*not on the forum), Vic see myself Brett (PR91) and SA see Dave (dave). anyone outside of these states, just let one of us know and we'll add you to the list. they will be a one off, so if u ask for them, u own them....
they have a bolt mount on the back with a large washer and wingnut, so fitting to your grille is simple. no extra holes needed.
many thanks to Greg for organising these from his supplier, and they look bloody awesome. oh, and btw mate.... 3 for me please!

I would like to suggest that you put your orders in with each state NOW as we were talking about only making 70 of them I have orders for 25 already with pm's and emails. There will be a 1 off order I don't care how many people want but make sure you order this month. We need numbers for each state so no one misses out.

not a problem really as a group we got the qld ones made. Because we are using he same design the hard work is done as they know what we want just the colour and word change. Ray has the contact as they have done other work for us. Freight get us we if we don't do 1 order as they are made O/S.

Cheers rod. On the list mate.
Greg.... Add another 4 down here mate. An order for 2 and a couple of orders for 1 (inc rod's). Am thinking is 70 in total going to be enuf at this rate? I'm already at 10 which is half of what we were thinking in total, and most dont know about it yet. Just a thought.

That's why I said we need numbers before the end of the month. It will indicate how many we need for each state. My thoughts were with the first reaction was 100 30 for each state and 10 for sa as Dave indicated but I have 1 order now for 6 and a couple for 4 sticky 3. we don't need any let over as someone will be out of pocket

Actually with Glenn's 1 inc in the Vic lot and another order I got for 1 before, were up to 12 now, so maybe 100 is a safer bet. What's the lead in time to get them done? Just think that we should give a couple of weeks notice so everyone has been notified (some aren't on here or FB where it's been advertised), and am wondering if the end of April is a better cut off but still gives enuf time to be made and shipped? What do u reckon?
