Short notice - I just read it in the paper - but there is an All Jap Day tomorrow at Banyo, sponsored by the Mazda CC and Sun Collectors at Earnshaw State College on cnrs: Tufnell and Earnshaw Rds, from 7 am for exibitors with $20 entry fee per car and open to public at 9 am. Contact Alan on 041632189 for further info according to the listing in the paper. I am thinking of going to try and sell the Bellett. Maybe others might go and we will make a showing. Cheers, Clyde

Hi Dave and all, We had three Belletts: Maxine and hubby with the grey GT, and two gents from Maryborough with a British Racing green GT both quite nice. I had the rarest Bellett....auto/sedan....of the three but did not seem to get the attention???? Day was beautiful and was a good group of cars. Did not see any Datto Fairladys or Honda S200s...only remember one or two Hondas if that. This show is not the largest....the October show will draw more cars/people. I was not impressed with the way they parked everyone....you were directed to a 'space' upon arrival so you had all different cars spread out all over instead of together. From the feedback I heard....everyone wanted to be grouped together. I managed to park behind Maxine's GT.
I forgot my camera so I have no pics....maybe someone else got some. Whilst there I managed to install my oil separator (thank you Greg) all painted to match the air canister. My horn and indicators stopped working....but I did not have anything to clean the fuse box terminals....another day for that. Had some good comments on my front seat job..... the covers did come out well. Maybe the October show will draw more entries.

Here are some pics I gleaned off the 'net. No Belletts yet... but I haven't finished searching yet. Here are some of the awesome non-Belletts: Firstly the Prince Skyline, one of the hulking kings of Japanese classic cars Attachment:

The cartoonish-yet-awesome Subaru 360 Attachment:

What appears to be a JDM Datsun 1200 ute; has a Jap sticker on the back and the Sunny badging, which makes me think this wasn't a locally delivered car... I just noticed that Ken's PR90 Bellett GT in the background! The astute will notice it's got the wrong tail lights in the back. So there are photos of two Belletts! Attachment:

Nice looking Datto 180B coupe Attachment:

Whenever I see one of these Mazda utes my heart skips a beat because I think I've seen a Wasp! It never is though... interestingly, under those hubcaps are a heavy duty 5-stud hub with a stud pattern similar to Falcon, I think (sedan and coupes were 4-stud). Much like the Wasp with the heavy duty 6-stud Rodeo stud pattern rather than the 4-stud Datto pattern the Bellett sedans and GTs have. Attachment:

Jonathan Barr's awesome classic Kei-car Mazda 600 Attachment:

Perhaps the MOST excellent car there. How is the resto on this extremely early 1964 Mazda B1500 ute? This is a totally wicked car; the meshy-style of the load barrier is just overkill. Attachment:

For the full story on this exact car (including before and after pics and some pics of the front) check out this url: http://japanesenostalgiccar.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2434&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0Hopefully with some more gleaning we can find some pics of some Belletts!

Found some more! Here's a rear KE10 wagon (known as KE16, I reckon) Attachment:

Beast! I could live with an el Presidente in my garage, let me tell you Attachment:

Here's another one of that minta (fake Wasp) Mazda 1000 ute. Attachment:

The hulking awesomeness that is Jonathon Barr's Mazda 600 with his mate B1500boy's B1500. The detail on the front of that ute is just a mind trip. Attachment:

Lastly... but definitely not leastly... Lindsay and Chris's green Isuzu Bellett GT! From what I heard above there was more than one Bellett there, but this is the only one I've found a photo of so far Attachment:

Hi guys the Maz B1500 is owned by Tim the Treasurer of the 7 of Clubs Mazda car club. He is nuts for them an da grweat guy to boot, the neat as a pin 808 coupe is 'ol Johns. He has owned it since new and it still had the plastic on the door cards till the grandkids payed a visit and decided to rip them off whilst playing in the car. Jonathan Barr with the Maz 600 (1 of a few he has) is the man who introduced me to Belletts by way of the 66 auto I bought off him 18yr or so ago. Some great pics and thanks for posting. Stickman
