couldn't find it either but did find a relatively cheap 73 GT. Needs some work though.

This is the Asahi pump, there's 3-4 on Yahoo Japan at any given time...they claim they fit a PR91 (amongst others), but look nothing like the original pump:

http://www.importmonster.com.au/view?ur ... 01973%2001

I missed out on an original pump repair kit last week after some furious bidding, which concerned me, as why would anyone bother with a repair kit when you can buy a whole replacement pump quite cheap?

What do you think?

EDIT: Another repair kit has appeared and I've placed a bid...also made by Asahi

looks like its for the early OHC motor which was made up from the original early block with an extra chain to the top of the engine for the cam and the old low cam still there to run the fuel pump and distributor-oil pump drive.

it sure wont fit the G150 or florian and 67 GT motors!

and i have a few incorrect type water pumps already at home, from the 1800 Chev Luv and fit a few others too.

Hmmm...how can it be this hard? The pump is listed as a PR91 pump, so it should fit, there is also a separate listing for a PR95 pump, but it appears identical.

If I win the repair kit I probably won't need to worry about the complete pump...fingers crossed.

I have one of these. They are for the SOHC engines.

Cool...sorted...thanks Glenn. Odd that it's listed as a PR91 pump...aren't SOHC PR95? Hopefully, the kit is for the right pump!

from Sept 1969, normal OHV PR91 GT's ceased to exist and all became SOHC....
any GT with a 1600 engine was a PR91 chassis prefix, whether they be OHV, SOHC or DOHC.
the SOHC 1600 GT ended in Oct 1971, although the PR91 prefix continued with the last of the GT-R's (like Dave's) until Mar 1973. the SOHC 1600 engine continued til the very end of Belletts in Oct 1973 in the PR50 sedan, which were built alongside the PR60 1800 sedan (like Glenn's). these were all SOHC as well.

the PR95 GT (like Geoff's) was only 1800 SOHC, started in Nov 1970 and were among the last GT's built in Mar 1973.

It was the right kit, but sniper got me at the last moment...what happened to the additional 5 minutes designed to circumvent sniper bidding? F@#k, even Japanese websites are shifty!

Thanks for the clarification on model numbers Brett.

There was also the GT-N "gt" which used a SOHC engine with a single carby. Possibly lower CR too.

Anything happening re: pumps from Japan? Rebuild is starting Saturday, I'm trying really hard not to buy the $360 (!!!) one on Yahoo Japan, as it will be double that when it arrives.

Hi All
I know I am late to this thread so please excuse me if I repeat an earlier idea
The PR 95 pumps are readily available in usa $40 ($50000000 postage) for early Chevy Luv 1817cc 72'-74'
Has anyone tried exchanging guts from these pumps to the housing of earlier pumps like using a rebuild kit?
Cheers
James
