Hi guys,

Confirmation today, sadly, OHC water pumps do not share any components with, nor can they be modified to suit the OHV pump. The bearing and shaft is larger than the OHV, so no chance of interchanging either, as with the seal. The bearing and shaft are too large in diameter to machine the OHV housing to fit.

Thanks to Oz for donating an OHC pump to the cause, but sadly, if we want a ready supply of OHV pumps we'll need to source them specifically. I can produce CAD to suit, of course, maybe we can modify to fit a readily available bearing and seal?

is it possible to make an adapter plate? A thick piece of aluminium, machined to bolt to the block with C/sunk Unbrakos, then drilled to take the 'other' water pump? Of course the pump will be moved further forward doing this so an electric fan might be needed.

Hey Glenn,

Australian $109.38 including freight - after all the crap I have gone through over the last couple of weeks I probably would have paid $100 just for freight alone to get it here quick.

The pump was AUD 48.14
Shipping & Handling: AUD 61.24

I am feeling confident in it.

Looks like it was the last one too. If it is correct I can let everyone know.....stay tuned.

Next up is an Oil Pump for a G150 (also suits the G130 and G180)........anyone got any links for new ones?? please

thats a good price all up i think. After all, cant do much without it. I would imagine some of the modern pumps these days cost more than that

I've watched them come up on yahoo Japan occasionally through Import Monster and pounced on them when I have needed one. They worked out at about $A170 including freight from Japan when I last bought one about mid 2013.

I paid $170 inc. postage for my repair kit, turned up missing a part.

Earlier I paid $75 inc. postage for the seal alone, turned up missing all parts except the ones missing from above.

Differences in the 5 water pumps/repair kits I had on hand meant some chopping and changing was required to rebuild the pump, with the addition of a new off-shelf Isuzu seal, it is now complete...hate to think what it has cost me all up.

I'm watching Yahoo also, will purchase a spare complete pump if I get the chance. Anything under $300 is a deal IMO.

PS: That pump looks pretty close, if not exact, RB.

That pump looks like it may be for 1800 OHC, which would fit the Chev luv motor in the Stat

Neil.

Commiserations mate. The pics you brought up originally were correct. Comming from a Parts Guy I can understand the
frustration you would have had when you got the incorrect pump. When I saw WP1001 in a Protex catalogue and not being
home to check. [I was in Melbourne for a wedding last weekend], I thought the number is right. Started to read this post tonight and saw what happened, and pulled out my pump listings and sure enough, it was wrong. Also checked my stock of pumps and this confirmed my suspicions. I have 2 WP1001's for my convertible.
WP1001 or PWP1001 is a pump to suit all SOHC engines. 1.6, 1.8, 2.0 litre. The GMB number is GWIS-14A or GWIS Y14A.
There is NO WP number for the OHV engines available. This is a list of numbers that I know are correct as I have got or used.
GWIS-13A, CP0319 or CP319 & 8943768640 (ISUZU).
Hope this will help everybody Nationally and our International friends.

Dave.

I GOT ONE!!!!!!!!

Okay I am pretty excited - but until I get the thing on Stinky I am not going to give everyone the low down on where and how much I spent on this thing.......I don't want to stuff you all around.

I am a bit busy at the moment preparing my Chopper for the Shannon's Motorcycle Extravaganza this weekend but I will try and tear myself away from polishing to whack this on sometime after work this week.

Check out the photos of it................(virgin inside plastic bags with gaskets!!!!!)

OKAY - sorry for the delay.

I was in the middle of installing the water pump and our old dog Zara (16 year old maltese) had a stroke and had to rush her to the vets about 7.00pm Monday evening.......she is a bit wobbly on her legs but seems not be in any pain and not getting any worse at the moment - we have to stay beside her all this week and maybe into next week to see how she is hopefully progressing.

Anyway back to the task at hand - pump is still half on Stinky but all seems to be well and good - I have NOT test run the motor yet but am very confident all will work as the factory designed.

WHOOOHOOOOOO!!!!

I purchased the water pump from summitracing.com the part number I used was GMB 140-1130 (a General Motors part number I think) for a Chev Luv.....

Here is the link:
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/gmb-140-1130

These are US$45.97 each and about US$60- $90 postage depending on how quick you want it - mine was ordered on the 27th January and received on 9th February by DHL Express (I was very happy with paying extra to get it here quickly)

This has been probably 3 years in the searching for me and I am glad to share with all of the Bellett.net family.

Now go get them!!!

Cheers,
Neil
