Looks to me like a native Leaf Tailed Gekko that has lost his leaf tail

There are dozens of varieties of them in Australia but that one is the most common in SE QLD and they can grow to about 10 inches. Becoming scarce since the introduction of the little geckos we have now from Indonesia, Malaysia and South America that have free loaded in shipping containers over the past couple of decades.

The one you have photographed will most likely die if his tail doesn't grow back before the next big dry spell as they store fat and moisture reserves in their tails for the drought periods. Awesome that you have them there though, and bit of a rare sighting

Here are a couple more you might chance seeing in your area

Pic for today. Cracked open the shed kit from its hiding place in the 6 foot grass. There's a lot of bits in this thing!

I've seen a few of those things but at night and they bolt pretty quick. We seem to have some unique wildlife up here but you have to wait a bit to see them again. Lots of quail, some ekidna, bush turkeys and even a little family of black jungle possums and the occasional swamp wallaby (on a mountain top :? ).

There'll be more little natives once there are less foxes, dogs and cats roaming around but that'll be a subject for another day. We allow both types of shooting around here :-).

This is a great project, a bit different scale to mine, but with a noble purpose of protecting Belletts. I hope if all goes smoothly, and you can start your projects soon. Saving and reviving belletts, how great is that??
Goodonya, Matt.

tell me (us) more about the dashboard display......interested to know more about these gadgets, especially costs.
Does it only work with the Motec module or can it be used stand alone for example ?

Since I left before sunrise I haven't any new shed pics. So this will have to do.

Wide load outside toowoomba.

The dash can not be standalone, it is fed data from the m400.
It can display a lot of things but most useful is temps, gps speed, fuel, pressure/boost etc
The m400 can do just about anything you will ever need it to do from closed loop lambda to boost control or even traction control. It's going into the gtr florian project (when I buy a florian:-)).

Cost wise their about $1500 secondhand. Look around the Jetski forums in Australia.

Once before in 1997. A Titan shed 12x7. All this work is by contractors. I couldn't push a half loaded wheelbarrow of concrete nowadays.

:-(
