Hi all. Considering fitting a 5 speed from a 117 DOHC into a Bellett, but without the remote shifter.

Can anybody tell me:
1. if the remote shifter is removed, will a sedan gear stick fit into the 5 speed box (and work) I think it might need a spacer only ?
2. will there be any tunnel clearance issues fitting the 5 speed without remote shifter
3. how far back is the centre of the gearshift 'hole' in a 5 speed and how far back on a Bellett 4 speed? (from front face of the 'box)
ie will stick come out of tunnel in same place?

Anybody got either box in the shed and can measure for me please?
