Hi Peter, congrats on the purchase! Can you please post a pic of the engine bay, maybe even one from either side? It will most likely be the sane layout engine wide as a Gemini or late Luv. I'm sure a Gemini 5 speed would fit if the starter is on the drivers side. Only real variable is the shifter I think if your car has a mse 4 speed.

Won't be a Gemini engine. Too early for that.
Will be a G180SS. Gemini was a Z series engine.
Bellett G series OHV, G series W twin cam and G series SS single cam all have the starter on the passender side. Boxes are interchangeable between them (provided u get the correct model there are simple bolt in).
Gemini has the starter on the driver side so not interchangeable.

You need a twin cam 5 speed..... Good luck. Rare as rare, and not cheap.
Or use a Gemini 5 speed box with a diesel Rodeo front case/bellhousing. Gemini box is easy, as for the Rodeo diesel case...... Again, good luck.

Diff crown wheel and pinion are interchangeable with Bellett. Housing is completely different tho as Flo/117 is live axle, Bellett is IRS, so swap the gears inside your centre.
Florian and 117 are 4.11. Bellett is 3.73.

Hi again,
PR91 has it. So I reckon you could chase a DOHC 5 speed, or swap the diff internals, but maybe just give it some time. Gary C has the red orange 79 model on here. He uses it a lot, going to just about every club run & show around the place. He drove it to Adelaide for the 2011 nationals, and the gearing is the same as yours, but its a 3 speed auto. Yeah, it seems to be revving at 110, but you get used to it. Its the same as my Florian that way. Modern tall geared quiet cars have us accustomed to low revs, so it takes a little while to adjust. We get similar fuel economy of around 36mpg or 7.8 lt/100k.
I suppose it depends how much you intend to drive it.
Cheers, Matt.
