Um, 7am, really? We have had a pretty big day today, so are planning a decent cas breakie. Should be mobile about 8 or so. 300 odd ks to Warwick, so about 4 hours, plus morning tea. Should land in Warwick in time for lunch about 12.30. It will be great to see anyone who wants to bring us in the last 80 ks. Oh yeah, Mary has spat a flange gasket, so I want to see of I can putty it up or something. Sounds pretty bogus. Not as bad as Griceys car though, its thrown out a seal, so there is an oil leak. A big one. Left Rye Park at 7.30 this morning, had morning tea in Molong, then lunch in Coolah. Attachment:

Landed in Armidale just after dark, about 6.30. Cold here? Oo yeah! Makes Rye Park seem hot! Nice day touring with the Griceys though, they're great! Cheers, Matt.

Exactly Matt. 7am......? Since when? Earliest we'll be in Warwick is midday. At best. Gricey's F'ey is playing games that we didn't expect, so no racing for us...... See ya then or there abouts.

B. Goodonya mate! It will be great to see you. Unfortunately Griceys oil leak became huge. He got here, but will have to fix it before going further. The exhaust would drown out any chaff cutter I reckon, but at 100ks it was pretty normal, luckily. We took it to a bloke yesterday and its fixed properly now. Now I just have to go and do a bit of pannel beating. Someone has backed into me and pushed the bumper and guard back enough ti foul the left front tyre. Nothing serious, but I gotta fix it NOW! Cheers, Matt.

Thanks B, you are too kind. I hope you had a bit of a catch up with the remaining road trippers. We are finally home tonight after a days delay in Sydney. Had a great run from Greg and Sue's, where we stayed on Monday night with Gary and Monn, to Grafton. We called on Glenn and Elaine to get a switch and fix the brake lights, so a big thanks for the part. Much safer. Rhys drove much of the way from Grafton to Sydney on Wednesday, about 9 hours, all good. Thursday morning and packing the boot to head home and my back went out a bit. Still able to walk, but very uncomfortable sitting. No worries, Rhys can drive I thought. Heading to pick Milli up from her cousin's and the brake pedal starts going close to the floor. Must have got an air bubble in there when I changed the switch I think, so tried bleeding them at Penn and Bretts. But they wouldn't pump up. It seems the master cylinder rubbers have failed, even though I had it sleeved and kitted before I put it on the road originally. So to cut the story short, a call to NRMA Classic and they arranged a tilt tray to bring Mary home and a Cerato for us. The towie dropped her off about 9.30 tonight, so she is all safe and sound. We just have to run the car to Young tomorrow to return it. Total cost $38 for the insurance. So an eventful end to our road trip, and the first time a car has failed to proceed. Had I not had the option of the assistance I would have pulled the master cylinder to bits and tried to get the rubbers, but they are a rare kit and I may not have found them, so very glad we had the option. Now I can just fix it as time allows. I hope everyone else is having a safe and less eventful trip home. Cheers, Matt.

Ooooooh, back twinge and soft brake pedal... Not a happy combination. I was lucky when my master cylinder crapped itself in the shed and not on the road Sounds like Rhys did a power of driving, and fortunate to have him with you on the trip. Great news yourselves and Aunty Mary home safe. I've put the offer to Brad to come with me to Albury next year. His manual skills are great now he has his Getz. B.
