That is Eagle Sayama's former location. They were located next to a university. They always had a dozen really well restored cars in front of the main office building, for sale in four rows. Under the buildings were the cars with promise. In the aisles between the buildings were some pretty interesting cars. But the big field east of the office was more like a salvage yard. Their overall theme was patience. It looks like they picked up a couple hundred really rough cars from people motivated to sell because their cars would not pass shaken. They stripped the worst for parts and put the best back together to sell. They set the price on anything in decent condition to a healthy price. They are not trying to beat shaken inspections, they set a price and waited for a buyer.

Say what you want about them asking high prices for cars in decent condition, but they have done more to establish a value for these cars once they have been restored than anyone else. It's great to buy a basket case for a couple hundred dollars, but once we spend years and a small fortune putting them back together, we can all look to Eagle's prices for reference.

One of the more memorable cars they had in the salvage yard section was a white 117 Coupe with the phoenix sticker on the hood and the whale tale on the trunk lid. It's pretty clear only one of these was made, and it was the same car from the brochure.

They moved out of that location a couple years ago. Either the university finally offered them enough money to buy the property, or Japanese law developed an eminent domain method of taking land from the owner for the public good. Either way, all of the cars disappeared from the satellite photo. Who knows how many were sent to the crusher. Eagle now operates out of two car lots several miles to the east, closer to downtown Saitama. One lot for new cars, and a second lot for used cars and restored Isuzus.
