Sorry Gunna, couldn't help myself, someone from Toowoomba did get quotes, it arrived today and it now resides in my carport, some TLC is required, but it is a running vehicle and very presentable, some photos attached.

It's my son Michael's birthday tomorrow (19th), so it has arrived at a very appreciated time.

My apologies, looks like I got the photos out of order.

That is a plan Dave, just have to get through a few formalities and make sure we get it registered here in QLD, we are driving it and it drives nice, body is a bit rough,but hey! we have a mobile Bellett, Michael is stoked as it arrived for his Birthday, so far, I haven't driven it, but been passenger several times, creating a lot of attention in Toowoomba Town, we even had a young lady follow us to a shopping centre to have a look at it and the Falcon when we were in convoy with each other, she said it brought back memories of one her father had.

I drove the car for the first time today, I had forgotten how small the Bellett is after driving the XC Falcon for so long.

Steering and ride is quite good, clutch needs adjusting, it comes into play very high in the pedal movement.

Brakes, from 4-wheel Power Assisted Discs in the Falcon to 4-wheel non-assisted drums in the Bellett, no comparison, Discs on the front are going to have to appear, especially for modern day driving.

And to think I used to race these cars with Drums all round.

As a matter of interest, can anyone advise re fitting of Lap Sash Retractable Seat Belts, the car has belts, but I wish to put retractable ones in, not much room though.

As a matter of interest, the chassis number is PR20-4060888, it appears to have been purchased early in 1967, I have quite a bit of documentation to go through that came with the car.

others may have done it differently, but in my Sport, I used the standard holes for the three points.
For the intertia reel part, I cut a piece of 50x50x3mm angle iron, rounded of the corners, painted it black, drilled two holes in each section and sandwiched it between the reel and the right side lap mounting. I assume all belts are made same as mine. Use the correct seat belt bolts though.
The usual seat belt kit won't have enough bolts for this mount so you will need to find a bolt bar shop with the correct bolts. You need 2 nuts and lock washers also. Make sure the bolt hole in the vertical section is up high enough so that the reel clears the bolt that goes down into the floor.

Its best to get the reel level as possible or they will tend to lock when trying to put them on sometimes.

Thanks for the info, gives me a direction, rumour is that seat belts are not required, but for me, they are a necessity.

I don't recall, but being a 1966 model, the fitted seat belts would be a bodgy job anyway as there were no attachment points for belts that I can remember.

A clutch is going to be a necessity, whats the go on them these days, obtainable, any advice on part numbers, suppliers etc.

Another question, I may have specialised in Belletts way back, but I have a lot of catching up to do.

The car came with a new ignition switch (spare), it has the same 4 prong fitting on the rear, when we went to install it, it disintegrated (Zamacitis for anyone in the Know!),

Can anyone shed any light on what it may have been, is there a known alternative to genuine,or does anyone have one available they wish to part with at reasonable cost.

A few questions, this car has the chassis number PR204060888, engine number G150351749.

The engine has an Alloy Rocker Cover with push on oil cap, low starter motor, adapter plate on the water pump, tin sump but a breather connection in the side of the block that would normally go to the breather on the side of the Rocker Cover, but is piped straight into the inlet manifold, G150 in Raised letters next to the Isuzu emblem just above the fuel pump, .

We replaced this hose and it sucked in with vacuum causing heaps of exhaust smoke (blue/grey).

If this is a 66 1/2 model, would it have had a 3 or 5 bearing as original because the engine in the car has exactly the same engine number as the spare 3 bearing block given to us with it which does not have a breather orifice on the side of the block and also doesn't have the G150 in raised letters next to the Isuzu Emblem on the side of the block like the engine in the car as well as the (5 Bearing) motor in the 63 model we are restoring, it has all the 5 bearing stuff, alloy sump, breather etc.

We have also been supplied with a 3 bearing crank and one spare head with small (17mm) holes and one with large (19mm) holes.

There are a few mysteries to be solved, the engine in the car is supposed to be fitted with Gemini Pistons.

Woo-hoo, new month, internet back!
So here we go. Firstly Ted, I have an ignition switch with key in good condition for you. It won't match your doors of course, but none of my cars do either. Most have had them replaced over the years. PM me your address and I will send it. Is there anything else you need?

I have a used clutch which may be OK, but I would probably just get a clutch plate re-lined. Burt bros in Sydney still do this.

Your chassis number tells me its a 66 1/2 model, and I reckon you have a 3 bearing. Perhaps the breather fitting has been added? Here are some engine bays that illistrat what I believe was original for each model. (Sorry they are so dirty, some are 'spare' cars!)

First is 66 model. (Last of the teardrops.) This is Doris, so is an original auto with 3 bearing. (Rare model) They are same spec as 66 1/2, with alloy tappet cover with push in cap, late long point dizzy, small black separator box with breather pipe on the passenger side, and low starter motor. And rubber mounted steering rack.

Next is 67, with 5 bearing, alloy cover with spin in cap and separator that vents into the air cleaner.

Next is 68. They went back to push in oil cap, and the separator vents to the open, via a hose aimed at the road.

(This is an auto....and I didn't do the yellow!)
Just for interest, here is a 66 1/2 auto. It scored the 5 bearing, while the manuals had 3 bearings!

This is as I understand it, from looking over the years. As many components can be swapped from model to model, and peaple did this for convenience or preference, many combinations are possible.
Also interesting, I learned much of this from you at Graystanes, but I appreciate a lot of time has passed since then!

I may have helped you learn, but hey! you're well ahead of the teacher now.

Here's my take on it at this stage, the car is a 66 1/2 and DID HAVE a three bearing motor originally (which is the block under the house).

The engine in it now is a 5 bearing that has for some reason been made to look like a three bearing and for some reason, carries the same engine number as the 3 bearing (is there a way to link the engine number to the chassis number).

In the paperwork I received, there are comments about leaks from the sump, I don't recall if the tin sump should go on a five bearing motor and if it did, what the result might be.

In the spare parts there is a Late Starter Motor whereas the car has an early one fitted.

There are some very confusing aspects about this car (is it possible to track down if it was in fact black from the factory?) (there are a lot of less than professional body repairs done).

There is a late Deluxe Front guard on the drivers side that was Orange, (a spare passengers Deluxe guard has also been supplied, also Orange), the passenger front guard on the car is an early model (Trim strip and mirror mount different).

The car appears to have been in storage for some time (possibly outdoors) and I suspect the may 2016 rego on it may be its first for a while (it was fitted with 5 new tires and an Inhibitor Switch in May/June when the rego was done).

The car has quite a bit of potential, but does need quite a bit of work on the body, it drives well and I got the brakes working as good as I can remember a Bellett to be, but still mysteries to solve.

At this stage, some sill rust got it knocked back for rego, but we are working on that.

We will get some photos of the different aspects of the engine together.

The ignition switch would be great, let me know how much when you send it, my address is
