Or more to the point, why do I torture myself by blundering thru Yahoo Japan with the knowledge that I'll never be able to buy any of the stuff that's on there?

hey dave i might be able to help you with this just give me a few days to get back to you,
The people i have used before charge 10% on cost and shipping cost is on you too.
Yahoo works well with model codes eg. PR90, PS13 ect

I'd be interested to know of anyone in Japan who could help with Yahoo Auctions...although less so now that the Yen has dropped off against the Aussie Dollar. I am actually registered with Yahoo Auctions, but have been too frightened to bid on anything, as I'm worried about postage and payment technicalities being emailed to me in Japanese.

Mail Order Japan seemed to be the most prolific, although I registered with them and they don't respond to emails, so I've never used them. You'd think there'd be reasonable money in it for someone. I keeps seeing a Datsun 310 Bluebird model kit I'm dying to buy...it's killing me to see it listed and know I can't even place a bid!

Cheers,
Duane

the person i have used only bids on under $100 low post items, and is not keen for heavy items, Mates of mine have used
IMPORTMONSTER.COM.AU they will go through the details, takes them a few days with email on listed items and you will need money in there acc systems.
Hope this helps

I was registered with Yahoo auctions for about 9 months and found it to be too difficult to effectively make bids. Some 'categories' one cannot bid directly but rather request to the staff to make a bid with the amount you wish to bid. Most of the time the email bid did not reach a live person and the auction was already over. The postage charges, bank fees, transfer fees all add up and an inexpensive item to bid on becomes very expensive. Yahoo requires you to have the amount of the bid in your account otherwise you cannot bid and must transfer $Y into your account. Yahoo is a slow, cumbersome auction house and you'd be better off just contacting Dick in the Netherlands and buy it from him. I resigned my account and withdrew my account balance after the last bid did not reach a Yahoo employee in time. Too much wasted time and frustration. Too many 'fees'. Clyde

Cheers Steve. I'm not actually after car parts, just model kits and brochures mainly, so definately under $100.
