Hi All,
One of our sponsors for the Isuzu National will be opening a new showroom for ISUZU and Subaru vehicles.
This will happen towards the end of 2017 or January to February 2018.

I have been asked if we would display some of our vehicles on the weekend they open, I have said yes.
I would be looking for 2 to 3 Wasps or more if possible, along with about 3 cars to fill the display.

Please come back to me here if you are a possible participant, dates will be confirmed further down the track. The delay at the moment is a building they need to demolish contains asbestos, no doubt you are aware of the issues with asbestos! Then the new Showroom needs to be built.

Those people who have Wasps, it does not matter if they are restored or not, a varying variety would be fantastic.

Please keep this in your mind and advise even if you are only a possible entrant, numbers we can work out the dates get closer.
Dave M.

PS: Would be great if it ended up around the Elvis Presley weekend in Parkes, just before or just after!!

Hi Everyone,
Since now I have my license back after my Quadruple Heart Surgery, I have driven over and checked with the ISUZU Dealer here in Mudgee re progress with the new Showroom.
The block and the Asbestos has been cleared, the slab laid and the walls are up, so progress is happening relatively quickly.

Ultimately we would like as many Wasp's as we can get, in saying that it is looking like 2, a tray body and a tub body, which will be great to have the two types there on the day. We have at least 2 GT's and we are hoping for between 2 to 4 sedans for the day/weekend.
I have been told by the Dealer Principal safe parking for our cars will not be a problem.

No date has been set as when the building is finally completed and fitted out then a date can be finalized, hopefully not a weekend we have an another Event on like CARnivale', Gnoo Blas or the Elvis Festival in Parkes, if that does happen we will need to make a decision? I will however be talking to the Dealer about those weekends to see if they can be avoided for obvious reasons.

I am asking for your support with your vehicles, as you know they supported the 2017 National here in Mudgee with the MUX LST all weekend and 1 MUX and 2 D Max for our car Show at the Railway Station during the National.

Please come back to me if you can support this Event or even if you are a possible?
Thank you for your support.
Dave Maurice.

Hi Dave,
I'm a "possibly-hopefully-maybe" with the Dubbo Wasp, but will be very dependent on how work is at the time....... when ever that time is determined to be for the event :?: :?:

Hi Dave.

Any news on the opening.

I’m gunna have to start pulling the red toy down soon but don’t want to have it in 1000 pieces when you want it.

I’m still not sure of my next surgery so it could be a no go anyway unless someone steels it off me for the weekend.

Cheers Kev.

Hello Again All,
A very vague estimate at this time would now be March, mid or towards the end.
The building is almost complete, windows are in, floor is being completed, aircon to be installed, the hold up could be the signage, also the front yard needs to be bitumised!
Visited the site yesterday, it will be nice when complete.
Spoke to the Dealer yesterday and he is looking forward to seeing your cars, ute's and truck.

Talk on the topic again soon, regular updates from here will follow, now I am back on my feet.
Dave M.

The latest is that due to signage being late from Subaru, the opening further delayed. The building will house both ISUZU and Subaru!

ESTIMATES at this time are now early April, I spoke to the Dealer today, still a fair bit of work to go, Isuzu Ute signage going up today, tiling started for the Showroom, carpet for the offices to come, electrical to be completed and computers and TV's to be set up. Once the building is almost complete, concrete bases for both marques outside signage to be laid and power to be routed to each sign, after that and the holes completed the outside yard is to be bitumised.
Sorry Guys and Gals that is building, remembering that they had a lot of Asbestos to dispose of beforehand.

I will keep the updates coming.
Dave, dont forget all welcome when it happens!!

Hi All, the date for the Mudgee Isuzu Ute dealership opening is now confirmed as 28th April, the same weekend as the Wings, Wheels and Wine Club event on 29th April.
Hopefully this will encourage members and friends to make a weekend of the Opening and the Air Show at the Airport.
Any questions, please ring me on 0412 600469, any further information will be posted here.
Dave Maurice.

Hi All, again,
This is our next Event and it should make a great all weekend, new premises for the local dealer and then the next day, Wings, Wheels and Wine, WWW is a bi Annual Event and is usually a great day with aerobatics, vintage aircraft, races down the air strip, demonstration runs by very fast cars and a Tug of War with 4X4'S to see who can out pull the other, along with all of this stalls set from various Wine makers if you feel like a Wine or 2.
We have about 5 cars coming now, we would really like to see a number of Wasp's for the new Dealership opening at the new location on Sydney Road on Saturday, a dinner on Saturday night culminating with WWW on Sunday.

If you can come along please call me for 3 reasons, 1 to allow space for the show on Saturday, 2 booking the tables for dinner Sat night and 3 Entries need to be sent in by the end of March.

Please call me 0412600469, or Julie on her mobile, very soon.
Dave M.

Well All,
Progress has been made, the ISUZU UTE signage is up and 3 days ago the Subaru signage had arrived and is now erected, it is all happening.
The new location may open slightly before the official opening, however we will be included for the Official Opening on 28th April, the interior fit out still needs be done, then the yard at the front to be bitumised, the fit out of the offices will take a couple of weeks.

It is sounding like there will be both Radio and TV coverage of the opening, the NSW Regional Manager for IUA, Grant Reynolds will be there on the day.

Please let Julie or myself know if you are definitely coming for the opening, we would like to know how many cars to allow for?
Cheers All.

PS. if you are staying for the weekend, please ensure you register with Wings Wheels and Wine web site, BEFORE 29TH MARCH, only pre entered vehicles will be admitted. PLEASE USE THE ATTACHED FORM TO REGISTER.
Remembering Wings, Wheels and Wine is on Sunday 29th April, if you are coming for the weekend you MUST register prior to 29th March.

Thanks for keeping us updated; good to hear IUA are still keen to recognise the obscure heritage of their marque!

Dave, IUA have been very good actually, mentioned to me "they look forward from hearing from me for this years Nationals", take note Steve we have their backing again for yours this year.

Please also see attached photos of where we will be on 28th April at the new location of the new Mudgee Dealers premises, still work to be done, however progressing well.

It is still my plan to be there with the Dubbo Wasp :P (most likely brought down on the back of the work truck though)
Unfortunately can't give an absolute definite will be there yet as I'm still waiting on some work installation dates being finalized, will know by next week though.

Cheeky bugger Glenn!!   THANK YOU Glenn it has been a short "LOAN", only 12.5 years!

Thank you Neil, it is even better now I have spent a couple days detailing it for the Opening, the whole bit this time cleaned the engine bay, suspension and chassis and painting both. I think the cleanest I have had it. My granddaughter wants me to take her to her Debut this coming Saturday night.

Sticky really looking forward catching up, HOPEFULLY, you can make the Event.
The grounds at the front are being bitumised this week, ALL LOOKING VERY GOOD. FINGERS CROSSED!!

An early thank you to all those that can make it on 28th April, any Gemini's very welcome also, no cost, no requirement to pre register.
Give me a call when you know you are coming along, (0412 600469) the new Dealership in Mudgee supported our National Event last October, I would like us to support their opening!
Dave M.
