This is a shot from the rear. I have taken the bumpers off and tail-lights as well. FYI, yes you do see headrests on the bucket seats. Thank you so much for the comments

Mate! That is one cool little ride.

Can't wait to see what you do to it to get it up and running. We never got that front out here, or that body shape so it's a rarity for us.

Nice little era mags with the white walls, and do those seats have head rests? All of ours were just the straight bucket style with no head rests. Looks like a pretty complete car though which is a great start.

Thanks for posting pics, it's good to see what else is out there! Are you going to go for the original look or modify it to suit your needs?

Cheers,
Ross.

I NEVER know how to place the 'square headlight' Belletts... Brett may know, but I wonder if they were the 1970-1973 version... I know the mysterious non-IRS Bellett B also had the same headlights, but enough of the standard-shape IRS sedans (like yours) had these headlights to prove that surely they weren't all fitted aftermarket.

Having said that, yours has the long bonnet and close-together wiper arms of the pre 1970 versions, plus it doesn't have the vents like the 1971+ models. Argh, I don't know - they are so HARD to interpret!

Also, your speedo is in Km/h, so that would make me think it was later....

Ross is right regardless - it DOES look cool! I think you may have emailed me photos of it before.

Plus once it's finished, cruising a RHD car in the USA would be really cool - I'm sure there aren't many RHDrivers around!

Hi thanks for the input I look forward to see what you guys think and Ross the seats do have headrests that are independent of the seats they can raised or lowered and have Bellett logo on the back.
The last four photos we've taken alot of the chrome off already
There was half of a Bellett emblem one side and I found the other half in a box but not alot of badges on this car.
The mirror posts are there but no mirror.
The only major rust is in the trunk lowest part of car where the spare tire is.
it is missing a trim peice around one light.
Dick from NL said that the mags match the car
We have preped the engine but encountered a rusted fitting on the water pump (goes to the heater core) that needs to be repaired
once we do that Im going to try to fire it up.
Alright thanks you guys ....

Later
Mark

Plus the boot hinges are colour-coded! I've really only seen that on later (1970+) cars.

Not that I'm an expert - I just mean from brochures and stuff; they're normally chromed.

Thanks for the comprehensive pics. They look good!

We have often discuss here in Finland of the little differencies of Belletts and noticed that there is not two exactly same kind of Bellett in the world !
We have never got that front either in Finland.
Please take a picture of the headrest with Bellett-logo.

Good luck for the project !!

Ari

Was this original and the badges were color keyed on many/all of the cars?

This might be a good way to determine if the car has been repainted, or what the original color was. Lack of an option badge or list of original colors with paint formulas written down seems to leave the situation as "try to match the original color to the closest modern color from another manufacturer's vehicle".

Was the progression of seats: Early - Low Back, Mid - Head Rests, Late - Tall Back?

Or maybe those are GT seats?

I think too these are GT seats.

1970 parts list says Deluxe and Sport has headrests too but little different upholstery.

Man I´m jealous of those seats !

Dashboard is without side defroster vents ??? This one is interesting car !

This is one odd ball little car! Good spot AriNojd with the side vents, or more importantly the lack of them! And those seats are great! If I had a set of them I would have kept them and wouldn't have bothered replacing them with sports seats. The Bellett text in the headrest is too cool!

The grill emblem might have been blue on all of the 1969 model with the flat tail lights... Mines not a good example as my car is also the light blue (Polynesian Blue if my hand book is anything to go by, but the Sports could have different colours again!) and my Isuzu logo is blue in the two ovals... I'll try and find a picture.

I just noticed that the window frames are painted too? I don't recall seeing any of this year with painted window frames, they are all chrome that I have seen to date?

Very interesting car, thanks for posting the headrest picture too.

Cheers,
Ross.

Rossco, all the late ones in AUSTRALIA have the stainless mouldings on the B-pillars and window frames, but this is because the only model we got after 1968 was the Deluxe.... but that's not to say that every model across the world got those features.

That headrest is excellent! I'd be surprised if the seats are out of another car; it kinda looks unmolested... but that's not to say I'm right. Also the 2-doors may have had the same seats as the GT as they had to flip forward for rear-seat access!

As AriNojd pointed out, the car has no eyeball vents! I didn't even notice! They were fitted standard to all the Aussie Bellett GTs as well as both the standard and Deluxe sedans. Perhaps the vent-less dash is a (non) feature of the base-model 1300?

Like AriNojd mentioned in a previous post... ARE NO TWO BELLETTS THE SAME?!?!? ARGH!

HA!

This is interesting I appreciate you all posting ....

There are two heating and air vents that are on top the the dash one in front of the streering wheel the other right on top front of passenger seat, long thin openings , you can barely see them in the photo of dash.
as for the seats Ive been reading the posts and seeing how different each Bellett is and yes they go forward to allow rear passengers.
By the way the square hole in the center of the dash is that space for a radio? or guages?
Thanks you all, look forward to hearing from you.

Mark

This is a picture of my -69 sedan interior. Here you can see the side defroster vents like everybody else in the world have in their Belletts

And yes, the hole at the center of the dash is for a radio. That blue faceplate with Bellett-logo was in sedan models -67-69 ( at least in Finland ).

I guess this is a base model 69 sedan going by the rubber floor mats and no cigarette lighter? You've got the wood grain dash when I think our base models got the grey dash but no clock? The 69 deluxe I have has the wood grain dash and a clock to the right of the combination guage (the left on mine as it's RHD, but you know what I mean!). I think my steering wheel must have been replaced at some point because it's looking more and more like the 69 model should have that steering wheel you have whereas mine has the older model, chrome horn ring one...

Also, note for interest that your ignition is on the steering column... Yet another difference! Mine is still on the dash like BellettPR10's! Argh, why isn't there any consistency!!

Good dash pic though, I'll post mine for comparison.

Cheers,
Ross.
